Linus made 'the' operating system that Microsoft has tried hard to keep up with for years. I still use a couple of five year old laptops running a three year old version of Ultimate Edition without any problems. No grinding to a halt, no viruses, does everything I need them to. If Linus has gone to MS then good for him. Go where they pay the best but, just don't expect me or anyone else that want their free OS to suddenly start buying Windows. It is not customizable enough and is limited to running things only built for itself and often not backward compatible with earlier versions. How good is that for peeps that can't afford several hundred bucks every few years just to keep up to date. Linux does this already thanks to Linus and all for free. Just look at Android. How much better as success story do we need for promoting Linux and it is the only system to run on all computer platform types including tablets and smartphones.....
