Honesty is the best policy. If you weren't getting great vibes from the guy, it's best that you cut him loose. Fear not about his temper tantrum will more than likely pass. Even if it doesn't you're not responsible for anything he does/doesn't do. Just be happy that things did not get to the point of meeting. Regardless of what you think he might say/do, remember: you can't save the world.
