Kinda look at it like this now. Dates cost money so you go on a date or hand over $100 gift and we have fun without the strings and if it’s a match then you work backwards.
Guy usually provides anyhow so if you make it going from sex back to relax relationship .... maybe everyone wins in the long run

I like both for different reasons. Big parties you just mingle, eat and drink. Small gatherings are friends and fun, a bit more intimate but not one on one which can be a good ice breaker
