I think maybe I should be clearer on the dolls thing - My son was born in 1999, that would've made someone who is 18 today about 10 years old. That's what I was getting at.

My ex-husband's most recent ex is 18 though and all about having a baby right now. He actually went to the state she lives in (this has been an internet relationship) and tried getting her pregnant. noway But that's another post for another day laugh

I have a full on double standard to this.... i'm hypocritical...and I know this...however,

If a man dates a woman much younger it is because he can't handle a woman his age. He is either full of BS or 'get's off" on them looking at him like that mature man that is going to "take care" of her.

A man that dates an older woman just is sick of the BS that comes with a younger crowd.

I know let the bashing begin......flowerforyou

I think this is the case in most situations.

any man who has dated or pursued a woman more than 10 years younger, is automatically off my list of "things to do" laugh

Same here! lol My ex husband is actually coming out of a break up with an 18 year old and nothing has made him as unattractive to me as seeing him pursue someone I would call a "kid". (yikes I sound old lol)

I will not exploit, for personal gain, a lady's youth and inexperience.

That's one way of putting it

i think it to be rediculas when someone is young enough to be your child or like 2 yrs older.... for instance 43 and 27 whats up with that?grumble

yeah my personal limit is a couple of years younger than my mom. She had me when she was 17 though, so it might not be that fair laugh

It just seems to me that an 18 year old, even one that may be mature for their age, has a lot of "growing up" to do and I don't know.. I guess I feel like an older person dating someone that age would be taking that opportunity away from them? ohwell I can't find the words to explain myself coherently lol I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks that's a bit much.

But, to be clear, I do feel there's a certain point where 12 years isn't so bad.

A friend and I were discussing age differences the other day. He thinks that it's okay for an 18 year old to have a serious relationship with someone 28-30. For me, there's too much of a difference between an 18 year old and someone that's almost 30. I can't seem to get over the thought that you know, when an 18 year old was probably still playing with dolls/action figures, I was giving birth to my first child. lol Any thoughts?
