How to overcome shyness....
|
|
Let me tell you, I am shy as hell also, and kick myself for not going after it when I had the chance. I feel your pain, but do not be discouraged. Things will get easier as time goes on(so I am told). It is great that you asked for advice, because I never would have done that. It just goes to show that you are not as shy as you think. I know it is alot easier trying to post and ask for advice, but it is still putting yourself out there, which is what us shy people have a hard time doing. Congrats and I wish you all the luck!

sorry brother man! I looked at your profile to see if you where the same person I thought you were. You have been very articulate in establishing your limits. does the other not get it or do you just not want to be that blunt?

Still care about them
|
|
yes you can. part of caring is being human. to love is something that is also a little bit selfish. it is something that we all dream of as children; being the object of someone's desire. That is not always written in the stars. But being able to care for another human is what we were designed for. i really don't want to put too much of downer on the subject, but if, in your heart, you have done all that you could to woo another, and it did not work, all you can do is wish the best for them. part of caring is loving, but it is for the bigger objective....for them to be happy.

The Perfect Love Letter
|
|
uneek, you are posing a question for all teachers to answer in their own way; where and how are we going to leave our mark?
Being able to write is a very tough and complex task, even when the subject is tangible. To be able to write a love letter is an art all to itself. I know that even the most poorly written note is better that a printed card from the mini-mart, but sometimes being able to express deep, heartfelt, untangible, emotions can be overwhelming for the layman. I am not the best writer, but think I can hold my own, and find being able to put my soul down on paper for my love a quest for perfection. There are too many thoughts to put down when writting a love note, that some might think of it as writtng "War and Peace." But, all that aside, it is lost on today's youth, the ability to express oneself in words. I have all of my grandfathers love letters from WWII and they are some of the most romantic pieces of literature I have ever held. They were more than simple "I love you" and showed alot more thought than just thinking about you. They were about heartfelt longing and true melancholy about the situation. I wish I could express myself in such a fashion. |

Partner History..

to all that answered that they would want to know for health reasons, are STD's a deal breaker in your eyes no matter how many partners they have had? Is contracting and STD a reflection of their character?
I have no problem answering the question but I have lived with the motto "ask me no questions, I will tell you no lies." The answer might be offensive and harsh, just like the question. Someone earlier in the thread that it can be phrased and asked in an appropriate way. |

Trust issues

yes, I have them. I usually try to give te benefit of the doubt and that it is all me. They have done nothing wrong(that I have seen) and I keep it to my self. I could look at the dark side of things, and stew about it, but I usually find something else to do that will take my mind off of it.

you have gotten some great advice so far, and I say heed it all. IMO you should take sometime for yourself, and find out what you want. You have already been married twice and you are soooo young. I thinking spending time with the little one will do you more good than fussing about whether you have a man or not. Don't go out looking to find someone to fill an imaginary whole you think you have. Someone more important needs you now, and that will need to be taken care of first.

And how was your saturday night, Matt? Get any good tips? It was ok for a while, then word got around that they had drunk stops in the neighborhood, and then died at about midnight. That absolutely killed the bar. Tips blew for the night, on the whole. It was hopping until word got around. |
