“The answer is not to defund the police, the answer is to fund the police with the resources and training they need to protect our communities,” Biden said at the start of a Rose Garden event on Friday afternoon.

Last I saw the ONLY guns that would be removed are AR-15s and AR-15 variants and similar weapons. These weapons have no place in the hands of civilians and this has been stated by military personnel. They were designed for one sole purpose .......... inflicting maximum damage on the battlefield.

As far as the Second Amendment goes it should be taken with full Constitutional context. The Second Amendment speaks of a "well-regulated militia". The Second Amendment is NOT the only place to mention this. The Constitution mentions that the militia shall be called by the Federal government with members of the militia provided by the states and officers selected by the States to oversee the militia. The Federal government would regulate, train, arm the militia when called. At the time the Second Amendment was written there was no permanent standing army, it was a citizens militia called upon by the Federal government. To cherry pick portions of the Second Amendment without the full context renders any argument for free access to firearms void. You cannot go out and purchase a .50 machinegun just because you want one to kill varmits / home defense. They are regulated.

At least according to Ben Ginsberg, the single most prominent Republican election lawyer in the country,

"Trump has enlisted a compliant Republican Party in this shameful effort. The Trump campaign and Republican entities engaged in more than 40 voting and ballot court cases around the country this year. In exactly none — zero — are they trying to make it easier for citizens to vote. In many, they are seeking to erect barriers.

All of the suits include the mythical fraud claim. Many are efforts to disqualify absentee ballots, which have surged in the pandemic. The grounds range from supposedly inadequate signature matches to burdensome witness requirements. Others concern excluding absentee ballots postmarked on Election Day but received later, as permitted under state deadlines. Voter-convenience devices such as drop boxes and curbside voting have been attacked...."

"...This attempted disenfranchisement of voters cannot be justified by the unproven Republican dogma about widespread fraud. Challenging voters at the polls or disputing the legitimacy of mail-in ballots isn't about fraud. Rather than producing conservative policies that appeal to suburban women, young voters or racial minorities, Republicans are trying to exclude their votes."

How much easier should it get? Should we get the lazy people who can't even get their own food, uber eats to pick up their ballot? Perhaps they can vote by Xbox.

I wonder how much pissing and moaning people were doing back before cars. I'm pretty sure just the energy it takes to saddle up a horse to vote, is less than what is needed today.

They cared more about their vote than their inconvenience - because it's worth it. People that don't think their time during one day is worth it, probably shouldn't have a voice - how much can they really care?

So then the military members, and in many cases their families, who are overseas should not have their vote counted? These are counted after the polls close like other absentee / mail in votes. It's not a new thing either been going on since the civil war. Cannot claim to be supportive of the military and deny them one of the basic rights.

Federal law also allows up to five weeks for the counting of ballots to ensure that ALL ballots are counted.

I wasn't aware that the military is claiming voter suppression. There is a process in place BECAUSE of their circumstance. Point out the evidence they are being suppressed and I'll agree with you fully.

Support the troops.

THAT would be suppressing the votes of military personnel, and their families, overseas. Also any Americans serving in embassies, consulates and their families. Business people and their families at overseas offices. Contractors working overseas. Need I go on? This from Trump himself. So he would in effect be suppressing ALL their LEGAL votes.

"I wasn't aware that the military is claiming voter suppression."...... the military as a rule doesn't comment etc regarding politics.

Trump has been nothing but a raciest from the start ... don't understand how u missed that ... TCBSafe...

Vote Blue Florida ... an all other states ... for the good of our USA:heart:

The people of Florida are going to be smart enough to vote in Trump.
Intelligent people will vote with their head, because they can see with their own eyes that his policies have helped more blacks and latinos. The smart people of Florida need evidence of racism, before they just believe what some random person says.

As to the Covid pandemic ...... seems just about everyone else in the world has done a better job. Most notably New Zealand. Note that South Korea had it's first case at same time as the US and yet has nowhere near the deaths.

Neither of your links work. rant

Forgot that the forums don't like the 's' in https. Should be ok now.
