with the modern world nowadays with modern technology.. is long distance relationship is more possible to work now?

The key is BOTH have to want it on the same level. Otherwise it won't work. You would think with all the help we have to stay in touch somebody would utilize the tools.

I believe it is possible now more then before for LDR's to work. Having a 28 marriage with careers separating us for three to six weeks at a time then spending a week to ten days together made for some amazing memories. Now of coarse we made a commitment and vow to one another but we didn't have modern technology as there is today. We were dedicated, faithful and committed to one another. Me being a hopeless romantic and truly understood the meaning to the heart grows fonder when you are apart and having faith we would be together until the end.

But yes both parties have to want it.

I've just came to the conclusion I can't find what I want in the world for a man so best to go back to the church and if I don't find a man in church I'll just follow Gods plan for me, so be itflowerforyou

I'm seeking a man in Church, I have met several and they believe in premarital sex, of which I do not. So, it is back to the search.

Have you tried Christian Mingle.com?

Yes , some time ago.

Many years ago I too venture into the world of seeking companionship in church. As I grew in my faith and grounded myself in the word of God. I realized I was going to church for the wrong reasons and once I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior into my heart the church would be with me no matter where I was. Church for me is for the nourishment of my relationship with God and the blessing of finding someone to spend the rest of my life would come in the masters time. I knew the day I met my late wife she was the one. It was an amazing journey and I will always be thankful for the time we were blessed to be together.

I don't know if it is meant to be for me to find another companion, but I do know God will make it happen if it is meant to be. So I will do as his word tells me concerning the expectations of the world.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

God knows the expectations of the world. What it deems worthwhile or valuable. Many seek silver or gold; like the poor man at the beautiful gate believing that money is the answer to their problems. Others seek approval from those they esteem, hoping it will give meaning to their broken lives. But what God offers is beyond price, beyond a quick fix, and often beyond preconceived notions. Good offers his Spirit and his Son already paid the price.

Through the gift of Gods Spirit, I can have life and wholeness in place of my brokenness, crippled attitudes, and stunt growth. God Offers me joy in the face of my worst sorrow. Because I am his child, I will Rise Up and Walk in Faith.

Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none: but such as I have give I thee: In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Thanks everyone for responding. Yes, I guess being in this uncharted territory on the super information highway of the online dating site has been an eye opener.

Starting over at my age and not dating since the eighties, you know when you could look direct into the other persons eyes and could read there body language was far more easier to deal with then now. It does seem to be an interesting adventure. I know it takes patience and I believe I've learned how to be just that.

Good Luck
Keep Smiling

well spanky, i think we are on opposite sides of the river. all the women i talk to on mingle, and yes i'll call them women because none of them will send naked photos to a friend (much less a stranger). i've not been up front, but rather have tried to sneak in the back way about nude photos, one night stands, friends with benefits, and especially cyber sex. i guess i'm just not sneaky enough. i prefer a total stranger send pics, but friends would be looked at as well (except manO, torgo, goofball, bhernandez, or any other handsome men on mingle crazy enough to take a panoramic shot of their manhood and send it). if you would pass my number onto the girls that have been contacting you, i will pass your number onto the women who have been contacting me. thanks buddy, godspeed, bulldog

So it WAS[/size=big] you who was trying to come in the back way!!!!!shocked  devil tongue2

Spanky, give it some time, ya only got here..... just ignore or report the nasties...flowerforyou

 Just a little more cautious now!
Things sure have changed since the 80's.

Maybe it's just me thinking this, but having a username like 'Spanky' may come across as at least having some sexual innuendo involved. It's like, for example, a guy calling himself 'HornyToad' and saying that he isn't looking for anything sexual. It just seems a tad ironic. Other than that, patience. Best to just chill out and chillax really. drinker

Maybe he's a Little Rascals fan.

Well Said!
Not only was I fan of the Little Rascals but it is also my CB Handle. I guess my real name Woody would have the same innuendo, what's a feller to do?

Finally a topic I can relate to!!
Strangest Food Ever
Possum Stew - tasted like greasy pork
Armadillo Chili - tasted like Armadillo but more greasier then the possum.
Sardines and Peanut Butter Finger Sandwiches - tasted like fishy peanut butter.
Conch Fritters- Tasted like clams with a twist.
Pickled Elephant Ear - Tasted like Pickled Rubber.
Squirrel Pot Pie - Tasted Like Chicken Pot Pie.
Brains and Eggs - No Not My Brains
Pickled Pigs Feet
Pickled Cow Tongue

Looking back now I understand why I've been accused of having the gullet of buzzard.

Lived a good Life but is it possible for a solid friendship to be established before a serious romantic relationship can be successful.

I am just about at my ends with the dating sites. I don't know why the younger girls, yes I call them girls because I don't believe a real woman would send naked photos to a stranger. I guess I am to old fashion. Thing is I was up front and said no nude photos, no one night stands, no friends with benefits and no cyber sex. How much planer can a man be. I prefer friendship first, I'm a man who is creative, funny, generous of heart, not in good shape- not slim and/or muscular, like I said I've lived a good life and I accept myself for who I am. I'm not looking to jump into bed with just anyone willing. And it is starting to piss me off that I have been stereotyped before even getting to know me. I never thought I was God's gift to women.

If you are looking for friendship first and possibly someone committed to invest time in building a long term relationship.
Let's Talk!

We met in elementary school, I liked her but she didn't care to much for me at the time fast forward to never dating until after high school, the night she walked in to where I was. I knew she was going to be my wife. We dated a year, married for 28 years when I lost her sixteen months ago. Now I am attempting to continue on, hoping to find some since of being normal again.

1. Get kissed in the rain.
2. Have that one hot kiss where your pressed against the wall.
3. Have a guy who thinks she`s the world.
4. Have a guy who holds on as long as possible when giving hugs.
5. A guy who whispers he loves her in her ears.
6. Have that moment where you just gaze into each others eyes.
7. When you cry, he kisses your tears away.
8. When you`re not with your guy he`s all that you can think about.
9. Wearing his jacket and every time you breath in, his scent surrounds you.
10. A guy who will watch any movie with her, no matter how teary eyed she may get.
11. A guy who squeezes her hand.
12. A guy who says he loves her and means it.
13. A guy who will play her favorite song outside her window.
14. A guy who is loyal.
15. A guy who will sing to her no matter how bad he is at it.
16. A guy who will kiss her on theforehead.
17. A guy who will call her beautiful or adorable. Not hot, fine, or sexy.
18. A guy who will never judge her for how she looks.
19. A guy who says cheezy stuff to her just to make her smile.
20. A guy who`s the same when he is with her and when with friends.
21. A guy who tells her everything honestly.
22. A guy who`s good with her family and introduces her to his family.
23. A guy who will always let her win.
24. A guy who stands up for her no matter who it is against.
25. A guy who calls her at night just to say ‘hi’ and see how her day has been.
26. A guy who tells her that her smile makes his day and makes everything better.
27. A guy who will sit on the phone with her when she`s sad, even if she`s quiet.
28. A guy who she can hangout and have fun with.
29. A guy who will just randomly call her for no reason at all, just because he misses her.
30. A guy who will hold her hand through the roughest parts of life.
31. A guy who would love her forever no matter the circumstance.
32. A guy who wouldn`t mind her wanting to get all dressed up and do her make up for him. Even if he says he likes her better without make up.
33. A guy who runs his fingers through her hair, like he’s washing her worries and troubles away.
34. A guy whom she can be herself with and he will never give a care and would still tell her that she`s amazing to him.

I know for a fact these all can be accomplished with the right person. But both parties must me in it for the long haul for it to be done. It takes commitment, dedication and investing time in building a long term relationship. I personally can say I've accomplished each of them with one person over an amazing 28 year journey.
Good Luck! Be Well! Keep Smiling!

Same faces from different places and they have the audacity to ask Where Are All The Real Men. It's frustrating enough to hear where are all the good men when the one looking has their own opinion of what a real man is!

Perhaps looking for Mr Right has been replaced with Mr Right-Now! I'm sure there are guys out there to fill that request but I am not now nor have I ever been willing to be Mr Right-Now!

So back at you ladies, where are the real women, looking for companionship, looking for more then a jump in the sack, more then just a free meal. I realize the man pool is swimming with leeches, sharks, jelly fish and barracudas, but you get what you catch.

Feel Free To Respond!
