King James did not invent the bible. Under his guise, it was updated so the average commoner could read and understand it. The bible consists of 66 books written by 40 different authors over about a 1600 year timeline. The old testament was written primarily in Hebrew from about 1500 BC to about 480 BC while the new testament was written in Greek from about 30 AD to about 100 AD. When we study the bible, we break it down into it's original text, then study what particular words or sentences meant when written at that time. The bible, in it's current form, is very close to these original texts. The average person who reads it will be able to get a basic understanding of what it's all about. Essentially, the bible is God communication to us and giving us instructions on how to live or lives. Today, we are under the church age which is based upon the grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with His finished work on the cross (Jn 3:16; Jn 14:6, Etc). The bible does not contradict itself anywhere from start to finish. One does need to understand which of the 7 distinct dispensational periods each book covers in order to fully understand how it applies to us. Hope this helps. In Christ...
