I want to meet older women just because that way i wouldn't feel like taking advantage of women. What the hell? If you want to meet older women because you don't feel that you would be taking advantage of women you have a lot to learn about women. |

Lmfao.... Well as for me yup I prefer much older. They do not want love... And a whole lot less into the head games NotPay4Play, older women DO NOT WANT LOVE? From your vast experience, just what do these older women you are referring to want? ... was that it? |

Young old doesn't really matter as long as they just want to fall in love.. I'm so tired of women that just want sex I truly want somebody.. that wants to love me with all their heart.. Yup.. How YOU doin'? lol |

I am an older lady and I prefer younger men but it hasn't always been this way. When I was a younger woman I preferred older guys.
The problem with dating younger men though is that some are very immature and all they are interested in is having sex. While that is very flattering it isn't the only thing I want and when I tell them this I don't hear from them again. That's fine with me though because it's easy to 'weed' them out. I believe that a lot of younger guys have a misconception about older, mature ladies. They seem to think that all older women are cougars prowling around dating sites like a wild animal. Maybe some women are but I'm not. Some younger men think that just because I am older that I have a money tree growing in my back yard. I certainly don't. Younger men seem to forget that I was once their age and if they live long enough they will be MY age. lol. |

msredheadedlady.. you are not wrong..at least I agree with you. men do want sex. they are just being men. It behooves one to understand dating.. it involves sex .. Us girls are lucky.. we get to pick! I am not sure I would date someone that I was not physically attracted to (cough, No1, cough) just my observation.. Of course I realize that dating involves sex and I wouldn't date anyone who wasn't attracted to me that way. I mean, it's flattering but if I wanted to just hook up I would make it clear in my profile. Hell, most guys don't even read my profile. Most don't read it on OKCupid either. |

I love making handmade jewelry .I can make beaded bracelets I have a drawer full of handmade jewelry that I created back in 2012. My favorite pieces are the beaded wrap bracelets. I have an Etsy store but I put in on vacation because I was tired of paying the fees and not making any money. |

I am a painter and I retired from Seaworld as an artisan. I have also worked in all of the theme parks at one time or the other as a scenic painter.
I love to paint on canvas and these days I paint only in oil but I still have my acrylic paints. I don't stick to one theme like a lot of painters do. I have paintings of castles, Native American kachinas and a few portraits. My latest portrait is a large painting of Vincent Van Gogh. Not only do I paint I have made jewelry and I made several pieces of Native American wall art. I also carved seven kachinas for my personal collection. If I didn't have any art projects to work on I would be very very sad. |

Who Are You Artist?

I think I would go into some sort of withdrawal process if I was separated from my art...I would grieve it's loss terribly....I don't think I want to ponder that happening for too long.....I would also trust that something pretty amazing would replace it I agree with you 100%. I am an artist and even though I enjoy other areas of art, my passion is painting. If I wasn't able to paint I would become severely depressed and probably would never snap out of it. Painting is an integral part of my life and it has been for a long time. I can't say that I would trust something amazing to replace it because I can't think of anything that would. |

Maturity and intelligence The lack of maturity and IQ is the mother of all issues. You are spot on with this. Even though I prefer younger men, they are not all mature nor intelligent. I stopped seeing a guy because I felt like I was his second mother. He is very sweet, very honest and couldn't be an ******* if he tried but he is a man-child. I'm not talking about being young at heart either. This guy isn't stupid or anything but my god is he immature. I raised my son already and I wasn't about to raise another one. |

What I want in a relationship is someone who actually likes me for myself and who will be good to me. I don't ask for a lot from my partner but apparently it's more than any man is willing to give. I expect my partner to be honest, forthcoming and open. I don't expect him to tell me his every dark secret of course but I also don't want him to be passive/aggressive. Don't hold things in for a year and then blow up at me and let it out. My ex is like that.
I love people who have a good sense of humor and it would be so nice to be able to laugh with my partner. As for dating, it would be great if a guy would actually take me out somewhere and not want to stay in all the time. One guy did take me out to eat but he expected ME to pay for his dinner. I paid for my own. The other two guys I went out with wanted to get take-out. That's all and fine but not for the first date. I don't want anyone in my house if I don't know them. Maybe I'm old but it seems to me that things are a lot different now than when I was a young woman. Men seem to want to bypass the dating part and go for the sex straight away. |

What is Shallow?

Anyone that knows my posting style knows I post way too much in my posts. What I want is a list of things that you all feel is something someone does that makes them shallow. I'm finding that most of the women I meet turn out to be shallow by my definitions and I am just wondering if I'm full of shiat? I mean, how can every woman I meet be so shallow? I'm wondering if I am being too careful? Perhaps I am not shallow enough? I've gone out with a couple of shallow guys and I say they were shallow simply because all they were interested in was sex. I think that I am an interesting person, I am an artist, I retired from Seaworld as an artist, I rode motorcycles for many years, have traveled all over, have lived an interesting life and I know a thing or two about a thing or two. However, these guys didn't seem to be interested in getting to know me. Two guys were interested in my paintings but quickly tried to turn the conversation into a sexual one. This was in the Facebook chat box, text messaging, on the phone and in person. I am very outspoken and made it very clear from the beginning that I am not looking for a hookup. There were no second dates from two of the guys and I dumped the third guy because he is too immature for me. Maybe I'm wrong for thinking that guys who just want sex are shallow but I think they are. |

I agree with you, hard for older women to meet it seems all our age guys want the younger women. Then there is the young who think you have a lot of money (NOT) Then the scammers who think you have lots of money and are stupid enough to send it to them. I wish you lots of luck I find all the dating sites the same. On OKCupid I said in my profile that just because I am an older lady, it certainly doesn't mean I have money. I said, "you probably have more money that I do". Yes there are a LOT of scammers on these dating sites AND people who love to catfish. It's exactly why I ask them to video chat with me. I wish you luck as well and you are right, all of these dating sites are the same. |

I'm surprised you haven't been more successful here. There has been a lot of post from young men expressing interest in "older" women lately. When the offers do start rolling in snap them up and stop holding out for someone your age or older. After all, why would you want a car which very rarely fires up anymore? I'm not holding out for anyone my own age and in fact, I prefer younger men. All I'm getting are scammers. |

Thank you very much for the warm welcome. So far there have been about ten or so men who have messaged me in a matter of two days. Every one of them are either scammers or they are catfishing.
Yesterday I had quite a long chat with someone who said he was in London and he had a nice long profile and several photos. We chatted throughout the day. He of course said he doesn't use any type of social media but he told me that he does use Skype and he said he uses Whatsapp. Great! I asked him for his number and all I got was radio silence. Haven't heard from him since. I really don't understand why I can't meet an actual man who lives in my area and actually wants to talk to me and go out to dinner or something. Have all dating sites turned into a hangout for scammers? Oh I forgot to mention the guy who I chatted with yesterday for a bit. He seemed alright for a while then the conversation turned to sex. No thanks. |

Older Lady Here

Hello everyone. I am an older lady and live in central Florida. Why is it so difficult to meet anyone here? I am an artist and have other interests, I am attractive or so I've been told and I certainly don't act nor look like a senior citizen. I own my house and share it with my dog.
I didn't date for a very long time (nearly seven years)because my mother was ill and I took care of her until she passed away in 2015. I joined OKCupid in December and only met three guys and they are younger than me. No guys around my own age were interested and I think I know why. It seems that many older men are trying to hookup with ladies much younger than themselves. I've looked at a lot of profiles and I see that men in their 50's and 60's say in their profile that they only want to be contacted by really young women. Really? Lol. Well, unless these men have money growing on a tree in their yard, I really doubt that they get very many dates with young ladies. The younger men who have contacted me either think that I have money growing on a tree and/or they think that just because I am older and more 'mature' that all I want from them is a hookup. They are very wrong. Why is so hard to meet a nice guy who wants to get to know me and see if there is a connection? I'm a nice lady, I don't bother anyone, I keep to myself, I have a good sense of humor, I'm caring, compassionate and affectionate. I'm not a 'cougar' on the prowl. I think part of my problem is that I don't hang out in pubs and I don't socialize much. I moved to this town a few years ago and I don't know anyone. This is why I joined two dating sites. This dating site and OKCupid suck. Plain and simple. On OKCupid I continually get messages from scammers and catfishers. I recognize them straight away. I just rejoined this site (Mingle) the other day just to see if it has improved but of course it hasn't. So what is the answer? How do people meet up and get to know each other? |

Newbee sayin Hi

Hi Candace,
I am new here too even though I apparently joined four years ago. Guess I forgot about this site. Actually I was too busy taking care of my elderly mother. She started showing signs of dementia in 2009 and even though I have four sisters who could have taken care of my mom, I ended up taking an early retirement from a job I loved to take care of her. She passed away this August. I am trying to transition from being a caregiver to being myself again. It isn't easy but I'm working on it. I've actually gone back to work at least for a couple of months and that has helped a lot. I work at Disney and the department I work in decorates the parks and resorts for Christmas. For the past three weeks we have done nothing but sit at a table and put wire on ornaments. Starting Monday night we begin the decorating. A team will fly to Texas to decorate the Disney cruise ships but I wasn't invited. I couldn't go anyway because I have a dog. The job ends Jan 1 or 2. I have an interview at Universal next Friday for a scenic painter position and I hope I get it. I am a scenic artist/prop fabricator. What do you do, Candace? |

Cant find anything to watch
|
|
I recently ditched cable TV because it got so expensive. I miss it a lot but can't afford to go back to it. I got a Roku box and currently have Hulu. I've seen a few movies, mostly with Bill Murray in them because I really like him. "Life Aquatic" sucked in my opinion. It was difficult to watch the entire movie but I did. Sooooo dull, sooooo slow. So un-Bill Murray-ish.
A lot of movies aren't free on Hulu as I found out and I am not about to pay for them. I have watched some free movies though that I downloaded and am not going to tell you that I downloaded them from Pirate Bay. Oops. Believe it or not, Alice in Wonderland starring Johnny Depp is a really good movie. I didn't think it would be but I really enjoyed it. Maybe it's because Johnny Depp is my celebrity crush. Not all of his movies are good but a lot are. Edward Scissorhands of course, Pirates of the Caribbean but how many of those movies are they going to make anyway? Ugh. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was good. Sleepy Hollow was good and would be a good movie to watch tonight. I think my favorite movie of his is "Secret Window". Really good. I've seen Interstellar with Matthew McConaughey and even though I don't care for him much, the movie was really good. Totally unbelievable though. When I am looking for a movie to watch I usually type into Google: "best recent movies to watch" or something like that. Oh, "Looper" was really good. Check it out. |
