Oh please... Mr. Obama ain't in noway the same caliber as Kennedy. Jack or Bobby.

Wake up pee-ple... This man is a front... Nothing more...

The fact that he has dark skin is the only reason the Dems selected him for this... Else he would never have been considered... Being a JUNIOR senator would have kept him from even being looked at were it not for his skin. (His voting record alone should have eliminated him right from the git... if it were not for the race card)

Can you say reverse discrimination... Your pre-judge-u-dice is being used against you... Both white and black, to put a party in power and nothing else.

And one and all are buying into it. (I hope there are actualy some intel-I-gent Pee-ple out there that can see through this)

Could that be the same reason they selected Palin? Face it, we need something different. I think the OP has a wonderful point in that maybe we should stop fighting about who is the lesser of the 2 evils and start working together to pull this country back where it belongs. Obviously, Bush could not do this....maybe we need new and DIFFERENT blood in office. As a whole I think we may just be able to make a difference.

I agree... One man can and will make a difference collectively.. and if you arent going to be part of the solution chances are, your part of the problem.

well im afraid it all goes to character, they not talking about jesus in his church, theyre preachign anti white propaganda. as for ayers, it might have been after his radical days, but he was still that man in the past, whether obama admits to knowing it or not, that isnt the sort fo thing that DOESNT come up in a convo. i refuse to believe that after 20 years no anti white sentiment seeped into obama from his pastor's sermons. furthermore its common sense that obama knew ayer's background but didnt care or embraced the idea of it.

look im fine with loving ones candidate, but really, are we going to overlook EVERYTHING, just so he can get into the white house and **** it up just as bad as anyone else will?

Ahhhh I understand now.. Your saying that your perfect right? You NEVER in your life knew someone that was corrupt or did something wrong? You should listen to BOTH of the candidates. Listen to the hate at McCain rallies. Listen to how he pauses with smiles to let the tone grow! Theres no excuse for that NO MATTER what spin you try and put on it! Neither candidate is innocent, but hey neither is politics thats how things get done. If you dont like it do something besides complain and help fix it.

Is this a good time to interject that the Electoral College is required to follow majority votes in only 29 states?
And that the electoral members vote separately for presidential and vice-presidential candidates?

In other words...if you live in one of the other states, the majority vote for the party is not all that conclusive, nor is it conclusively for both candidates of any party in any state.

My concern is whether the electoral votes will put an entirely different duo into the seats of power than everyone expects.

For the basics of how the Electoral Vote works, an explanation is available

You know what the real problem in America is? We as a country need to collectively pull our heads of of our asses. Use the energy your putting into finger pointing and name calling to make change! DO you honestly NOT think washington is laughing their jolly fat overfed asses off at us? This sides calling the other that, that side is saying this side is doing whatever.. The whole time they sit watching us like the roman emperers in the colliseum, while we go at each others throats their digging us a deeper hole. We're all Pawns til we make change!

heres a little bit of clarification to what you think about the 2 candidates:

McCain: Voted against ban on assault-type weapons but in favor of requiring background checks at gun shows. Voted to shield gun-makers and dealers from civil suits.

Obama: Voted to leave gun-makers and dealers open to suit. Also, as Illinois state lawmaker, supported ban on all forms of semiautomatic weapons and tighter state restrictions generally on firearms.

...you were saying?

This morning the economist on the radio was talking again.
He talked about McCain's plan for the banks to buy the mortgages.

He said that rewards the banks and the tax payers will have to pay for it.

I don't like the sound of that.

todays paper, Bush administration/White House may take control of certain banks.... hmmmm sneaky huh????

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081009/ap_on_bi_ge/meltdown_paulson

Hasnt the feds had a "silent" stake in freddie and fannie since the early 30's????

I go with expereince over the empty suit OPRAH propping no experience OBAMA anyday.

I don't know why people all say Obama has no experience. He's been active in politics from the local level on up to the national level pretty much all his adult life. Considering Palin has no experience in national politics, isn't this the pot calling the kettle black?

Well OBAMA's ties with ACORN...Fannie/Freddie debackle in exchange for taking campaign funds, & his ties with Aires is more than just we lived in the same neighborhood.

BTW..SARAH has executive experience. OBAMA doesn't, & she is not running for PREZ. He is...

Being a state governor does not give anyone "executive" experience. The only thing that does that is President and unless you're an incumbent, there isn't a single person who is more or less qualified than anyone else. All you have to do is look at the debacle Governor Bush has created in Washington to know that

BUSH is leaving office but he was not the only one elected. Congress has a much lower approval rating than BUSH.

BTW...BUSH kept us safe...
laugh laugh laugh laugh rofl I think I just pee'd a little.. Bush what? What history book are you reading from? Who needs foriegn terrorists when we have them here running the country! Keeping everyone clinging to the facad that if we dont give up our constitutional rights they cant protect us... yeah real safe and secure!
BTW I shouldnt even have to mention track records.. McCain voted with bush over 90% of the time so Ofcourse Obama voted with the democrats and never challenged them.. it was unanimous they were ALL against BUSH!

you know a lot of you out there have told me I have no right to comment about America because Im not American..(well I am, just SOUTH American), however, I just want to say that I spent most of my life in the US..got to see the tail end of what my parents lived: a US were even a person with only a 6th grade education could afford a nice house, a new car every couple of years and all the "luxuries" available and "made in the USA",

..I cant believe the bi-partisan CRAP people argue about on these threads..you all should be as mad as hell that the America the Baby Boomers and Immigrants like my folks had is GONE...you all are getting hosed by big corporations that are sucking the marrow out of whats left of the US...

Im watching the Titanic sink.. and it really makes me very, very sad....and also very grateful, since it appears that I left just in time...tears what

I agree with you.. unfortunately this America is no longer United.

Okay, I couldn't help it.

To me, this was the most horrible pathetic "debate" I've ever seen, it was just uninformative and petty.

2004, the WWE hosted a debate between Mick Foley and Bradshaw to promote their smackdown your vote campaign, the WRESTLERS talked about issues more than these two.

I found it educational to watch their personalities and demeanor.

me too.. did you notice how McCain jumped in about Obama being able to refute what McCain said.. "if he gets to i get to too.." Im starting to see McCain and Palin are getting their coaching from the same 3rd graders.

it's disgusting
and we paid for it all
how nice of us huh?

wonder if either ss or medicare will be available to us at our retirement age?

I think entitlement is the wrong way to describe social security and medicare, it's called that appease us now, but there is no real security no matter what you call it.

Fran, I was just thinking the same thing.

Entitlement? I thought that we have been making insurance payments.

not insurance you were makin assurance payments... assurance the CEO's were getting paid.

Transcript from debate:

Brokaw: There are new economic realities out there that everyone in this hall and across this country understands that there are going to have to be some choices made. Health policies, energy policies, and entitlement reform, what are going to be your priorities in what order? Which of those will be your highest priority your first year in office and which will follow in sequence?

Sen. McCain?

McCain: The three priorities were health...

Brokaw: The three -- health care, energy, and entitlement reform: Social Security and Medicare. In what order would you put them in terms of priorities?

(McCain writing down notes of 3 things feverishly)

McCain: I think you can work on all three at once, Tom. I think it's very important that reform our entitlement programs.

POINTS:
1. McCain could not remember the three points! He had to stop and write them down!laugh

2. He says he can work on ALL 3 but he had to stop his campaign to work on the bailout? laugh

he also had to stop the debate to write them down.. and again gave noCLEAR answer..slaphead
