The beleaguered Democratic-leaning community group Acorn sends over this photograph: John McCain, in March of 2006, sitting beside Florida Rep. Kendrick Meek at an event Acorn co-sponsored in Florida.

The immigration event, which other photos show was packed with red-shirted Acorn member, was co-sponsored by the local Catholic Archdiocese, the SEIU, and other groups.

McCain, still spiting much of his party on immigration at the time, was the headliner.

Bertha Lewis, Acorn's chief organizer, said in a statement that came with the photo, “It has deeply saddened us to see Senator McCain abandon his historic support for ACORN and our efforts to support the goals of low-income Americans."

”We are sure that the extremists he is trying to get into a froth will be even more excited to learn that John McCain stood shoulder to shoulder with ACORN, at an ACORN co-sponsored event, to promote immigration reform," she said.

ho-hum. heaven forbid we should change our minds.

Wasn't it just last weekend on his own website that he changed his mind on what to do with this mortgage crisis twice in 24 hours?

also why does eveyone overlook him and ayers? or his church? i still cannot FATHOM it,lol. there ar eno more blakc panthers but if there were and he had been hanging out with them woudl we still love him so much? cause he went to a church that preached the same doctrine as them for 20 years.



as for ayers, the guy admitted to bombing the pentagon cause he was mad over vietnam, ok fine, whatever, he killed and risked the lvies of alot of innocent people, good job coward. then he gets called ont o replace a woman (i forget who it was) as a politician, and the entire conference was in AYER's house! WTF?!

you know what seals the deal for me though? mccain served in the military, what reason does obama have for not doing so? there were almost no wars, gulf war doesnt count it lasted roughly a week. but no one would dare ask that question, too many people shirk from that duty, and its fine, its not for everyone. but i fail to see the allure of obama. seems to me alot of the people i asked when it was between him and clinton said, "oh hes black, hes gonna make changes! im sick of old white men!"

Regarding Obama and Ayers - he was a child while Ayers was in his radical stage. When they met it was YEARS later.

As for his church. I have attended a number of churches and believe me even though I was very good friends with the ministers it does NOT mean we shared identical political or social views.

If we are all to be held "guilty" of what acquaintances have done in the past. Then we are all in big trouble. Rather that learning how to build bridges of understanding we would be building walls of distrust. Personally I like bridges.

well im afraid it all goes to character, they not talking about jesus in his church, theyre preachign anti white propaganda. as for ayers, it might have been after his radical days, but he was still that man in the past, whether obama admits to knowing it or not, that isnt the sort fo thing that DOESNT come up in a convo. i refuse to believe that after 20 years no anti white sentiment seeped into obama from his pastor's sermons. furthermore its common sense that obama knew ayer's background but didnt care or embraced the idea of it.

That's kind of naive, IMO. People don't tell their sordid pasts when you talk to them. You could be talking to people that have been in jail or have been addicted to drugs and/or alcohol, had an abortion and you will never know it. They don't introduce themselves and say, "Hi, I'm Joe. I've been to jail. How are you?"

Yes, it is something that does not come up in conversation.

Umm just to be clear...which ideas of McCain do you like?

He has changed them so often in the last year he seems like a magic eight ball. Shake him up and watch a new answer pop up.

For instance two days ago he said he had new proposals that he would announce, didn't announce anything and leaned on the same tired old lines at campaign stops. Basically he said, "Be afraid of Obama and a democratic majority"

The only ones he's floated were quite similar to what many dems are proposing to address the economic crisis.

I am damned sorry McCain forgot the man he was in 2000. If he was that man still he'd have my vote. Instead he has proven he will do and say anything to attain the Presidency. An office he has been seeking for many years.

I have no issue with people who change their minds after study and experience. Actually I respect a person who can admit that given new information their position has changed. As long as that new information isn't learning what they have to say to get elected.

His blind ambition has made him desert the man he was...what makes you think the same drive will not make him desert the American people?

After the last debate McCain's folks said he had a plan to help people caught in the mortgage crises. During the discussion by the commentators it was pointed out that his "new" plan was part of the 700 billion bailout. Perhaps that was it.

I know this McCain is no friend of public education.

I have pointed out that McCain's past associations with white supremacists makes him just as guilty as Obama on that score.

It appears they are equal with their past associations with scoundrels. So we can get over that argument as long as people are not holding onto it for other unseen agendas.

look, i really cant stand half of you people. so im going to keep it succinct. obama doesnt care about you. any of you. he never will. meet him 5x then ask him about you in a month he wont rememebr. were ants and toy soldiers to the presidents. the popular vote isnt even needed to get into office. none of oyu are changing anything and none of you will. you lack vision, you lack conviction, but most of all you lack heart. youre all willing to sit idly by and let the govt tear us apart. keep us from being a united country, theyd rather sit back and watch us argue about parties, when parties dont matter anymore. every politician is after money and power nothign more.
