Such perfect expression of how so many feel... Your empathy is touching and beautiful!

In days of yore, all the great British families had at least one mentally-ill member: they were usually kept isolated in one of the wings of the property. Sadly, they were often an object of ridicule.

Today of course, we are more tolerant and understanding, thankfully.

In the south, we just sit them on the front porch for everyone to see - we are proud of our idiosyncratic natures...happy

And a lovely one at that.

If I were convinced of my sanity, I'd be very afraid...

What constitutes a good profile picture?

A representation of your appearance, or your personality? Of your humor or thoughtfulness? Of your interests, or generalities?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all...

That was beautiful V...and being from the south, I know where you're coming from.

Ah, the perspective lilts a little, doesn't it?

I would love to hear the musical arrangement this belongs with -it's always refreshing when sentiments come across this well. Loved it!

In the South, it is necessary to be light of heart.
The air is an entity unto itself,
its heaviness all-encompassing.

The concrete porches shed skins of heat,
daylight malfunctions above the trees,
patches of sky stare,
blanks on the soul of heaven.

In summer sometimes scenery is everything,
without imposing itself like capricious, pouty Atmosphere,
swallowing all she meets down her hot throat,
savoring the squirm and tickle of each victim.

Those who escape her live out their moments
in the longing she induces,
her breath forever against their collars.

Stay out of trouble! Or at least make your trouble story-worthy!

I just love how general discussions get so personal in a hurry. Say what you like about my opinion, but someone asked for it first... You don't see me judging anyone here based solely on their response to a post.

we dont have a gun problem, we have a criminal element problem fostered by a lenient criminal justice system that favors the criminal over the victim. Do not be confused here. Yes, it should be mandatory for the head of every household to be armed when out in public 24/7

I couldn't agree more - I think gunslinger law should be nationwide. It would save us all a lot of grief.

Check out the early ed websites - there are tons of preschool/early ed activity suggestions appropriate for 5, 6 and 7-year olds. And if you're really stuck, I'll email you some of my old stuff!

Also, learn LOTS of songs!!
