Whose reason would that be? Everyone is different. I never felt that I needed to move for three years in my relationship. Obviously it will happen eventually, but why in the world does distance have to be a relationship ender...or blocker? i actually PREFER being with someone long distance. i am a busy busy girl and when i have a guy with me constantly, i cant breathe. when i date someone out of town, it makes me appreciate when he is there.
thats my voice of reason.


All I am saying is that people tend to think with their heart without considering the huge financial and emotional investment. I dated a man long distance for over a year. He asked me to move to Tulsa so I quit my management job, sold my home and moved my children. We both found you do not get to know each other very well doing the long distance thing. It ended 10 months later. I think anyone that has actually DONE it has a more realistic viewpoint on how well these things can work. Maybe I'm too practical,, jmo.


AllSmilesInTulsa, practicality is prudent... especially in these times. Even though I have never partaken in a LDR, I understand where you are coming from. I don't know that I could have made that type of a move, uprooting my family.

I travel 96 miles one way to work, one way, every day ... so a couple of hours is no big deal for me. But there are those that can't handle that kind of driving.....

I think you'd be stupid not to think there is something beyond ourselves.

I think it would be arogant to think that there isn't intelligent life elsewhere.... but then, the human race has a perpensity to arogance.....
