So I think it's safe to say that the OP already made his journey with or without a travel buddy.
And as it stands right now there can't be much travelling with all the lockdowns and quarantine times in countries.

As for travelling with a stranger... what's wrong with that?
I travelled all the way from Darwin to Uluru with an as good as stranger. Another gal I met just a few days prior to departure in my lodge.
We hitch-hiked together, spent a night under the stars in the middle of freaking nowhere etc.
Then she became my colleague and roommate too at Uluru.

We need to understand that a person who have not been taught how to be truthful and honest--- can go onto cheating. Though it's a matter of choice as always coz temptation is everywhere-- if a person is wise enough he or she will flee from the very thought of reaching out to temptation. To love and get loved in return is different thing ... when all the red flags are present, don't hold on to that person. You will never find the right one if you stay at the wrong person..
