Hell yes Bush is qualified to deal with the islamo radicals. Why do you think we have not been attacked in 6+ years? Bill Clinton did nothing to curve the steady build up in violence commited by terrorists. Kobar towers, embassy bombings, and the bombing of the WTC.... Clinton did nothing to stop the radicals. 9/11 was plotted, financed and put in place during Clintons watch but because it was executed during Bush's first year, you choose to believe it was his fault? Pointing the finger at Bush is not persuasive. Count your blessings you live in a safe country right now. You will look back on this day in time quite fondly when your democrat president fails to maintain the nations security. You want a democrat in the white house? Are you willing to bet all our lifes on it? I'm not.

Oil, for the foreseeable future is the major barrier to peace. I for one am hopeful that technology will overcome the worlds demand for oil. It is not an impossible senerio that oil could even become obsolete. With that barrier removed peace might be achieveable. I know that technology is way down the road but it is coming. |

Obama is one heck of a speech maker. But...after you have heard the same thing 15 times.... I would trust Hillary over Obama to deal with Pakiston's nuclear bombs. She is more qualified. Neither is qualified. |

There is ample evidence to conclude the stability of the middle east is not achievable in our lifetime. That will forever be the case if cynics such as the ones I see in this thread remain in the majority. The effort to extend the olive branch to all sides of this debate, is at least worthy of consideration. Our children and our children's children deserve that headstart on resolving the conflicts in that part of the world. Bush may not be able to broker peace, and the same may be said for the next president. A hopeful vision for the future will not manifest until hopeful minds conceive that possiblity. The fruit of negotiations today may very well produce seeds that take root tomorrow but to not even try is the absolute best way to insure they will not.

I sincerely hope you find the answer to your question. You won't get it on this thread. Creditable link after creditable link has been posted to help you in your search for the answer. If that has not got you started to the path to enlightenment then I don't know what else to say to you brother. Madisonman started this post to stir up the pro conspiracy minded. If you want to believe your government did this then all evidence to the contrary will not change your mind. The truth is out there. |

Not being a homer for NE nor JAX I can say without bias, NE will win the game. JAX is a hell of a team and they are to be commended for a great season. NE is a monster that will not fall in their first playoff game. The Colts may have a shot at stopping NE, but JAX will not be able to outscore the Pats.

"All the lefties sure went on to blame the British when Iranian Revolutionary Guards oversteped international law and seized British soldiers, held them captive, and paraded them on TV for political games. So, based on that, I expect us US citizens to take sides, one in support of Iranians and against the US, and the other side to fully support the US, blame the Iranians, and say should it happen again to fire away." I sure am glad to have you call the shots and tell me what I should and shouldn't support. Sounds just like the babyshrub bull that those who were against him attacking Saddam and Iraq for 9/11 were Terror supporters Crap!!! There is always more to everything than that which is posted. I will hold my opinion for a while longer. We won't be attacking Iran like we did Iraq cause we know they are part of the nuclear (well in the words of babyshrub nucular) race. I say maybe men need to control themselves. They get a little gun happy sometimes. Lets use our brain and not our brawn on this one so we do not make the mistakes of our pres, okay???!!!! You are right about us not attacking Iran but that is because Isreal will. When Hillary gets in office do you think she will control herself when the radicals get their hands on Pakistan's nukes? Maybe, maybe not but India won't. |

You people are missing the point. Only the States have the right to impose this ban, not the federal government. I'm not saying it's not a good thing. Who doesn't like fresh are?

That seems like a good plan to me. I would support it. Its really great not having to go into a restaurant and request nonsmoking and still smell the smoke from the other side of the place. Either way though he can't pass it only support it. Like the article says Congress would have to pass it as well. Sure it is a good plan but not constitutional when implimented at the federal level. |

Didn't Huckabee propose a national smoking ban? That is a slippery slope. Where do the taking of civil liberties end? Its in public places only. I live in Louisiana and we had a state wide smoking ban in public places since last year and its actually really great. Thanks for the info. Here is some more... http://news.aol.com/elections-blog/2007/08/30/huckabee-commits-to-nationwide-smoking-ban/ Main point is it is the states right to do this not the federal gov. The federal government does not have the freedom to pass any law that is in the public good without violating the tenth amendment. |
