A little Burning Spear or The Maytals you can't go wrong with either.

Excellent choices. I have posted all of them here, Burning Spear is my go to artist.. One love. Keep them comin..smokin

Excellent Reggae Band Burning Spear but when it came to DUB for me they are mind blowing, Probably the best DUB act ever! (again for me) With the Reggae album 'Marcus Garvey' & it's DUB Version 'Garvey's Ghost' classic!
Lovin' the Reggae appreciation page, I'm sure you cover Ska, Rocksteady, DUB, Dancehall too? For me the likes of Reggaetron or ton? Etc it's bloody awful just like summer time 'Cod' Reggae, It's unbelievable how many people still snigger at the music, It's powerful if it's Love, Political, Religious, Just hard living it's covered by Reggae.

A little from Peter Tosh's great album 'Equal Rights' say the title track itself 'Equal Rights' you can't go wrong with and I'm a personal fan of Marcia Griffith's (as in Bob & Marcia, I-threes) her version of 'First Time Ever I Saw Your Face' her vocal is fine & the music is sweet! Again BIG LOVE

Thanks for the input, as you can see by this thread its quite a wide range of artists, I hear what you are saying about UB40, it's hard to go by their first album for me, a pure classic, maybe you could have dropped a few tunes while you were here.. Anyway, stay blessed. Aon Grรก/One Love

Yeah UB40's Signing Off' is a classic Reggae Album staying in the charts for 75 weeks and it's the only Reggae Album to appear in The Rolling Stones Magazine Top 100 British Albums, As for dropping a few tunes I don't know how to? I could suggest a few maybe a 'Signing Off' track to the first single of their last album I spoke about 'For The Many', Maybe an early The Wailers tune too, Just to see the difference in early to present day UB4O & the difference between The Wailers & Bob Marley & The Wailers, It's clear but still Reggae & outstanding! If it's possible try: UB40's 'King' (the AA side off their first single) to 'Moonlight Lover' the first single off their last album from last year,
Also try The Wailers 'Nice Time' to Bob Marley & The Wailers 'Coming In From The Cold', All four tracks well to the Reggae fan are so different yet fall under the same category and that's Reggae, Again BIG LOVE

A little Burning Spear or The Maytals you can't go wrong with either.

As a Reggae/DUB musician there are too many Bob Marley & The Wailers popular (meaning 'Pop') song requests and people slaughter UB40 for changing their sound?, Listen to The Wailers (not Bob Marley & The Wailers! just The Wailers) before their music left Trenchtown,Jamaica when there's no American Slide Steel Guitar anywhere! It's superb! Yet track one on 'Catch A Fire' 'Concrete Jungle' is purely Americanised!, It's an alright album but with time more and more Lead Guitar appeared and Lead Guitar has no place in Reggae music, Hence Horn Sections, Keyboards, Lyricons, Percussion and the Melodic yet still Rhythmic deep Bass Line carrying it, Of course along with the One Drop or back beat on the 3rd, Bob Marley who is or was a legend sold out a bit there, Hence Bunny Wailer & Peter Tosh leaving The Wailers! UB40 they just move with the times, Still to date releasing two brand new Studio Albums last year called 'For The Many' (the Labour parties campaign slogan during the last UK election, they're still anti-conservative), With 'For The Many DUB ALBUM' on the same day only for original Saxophonist Brian to get diagnosed with two brain tumours the following day! I'm not putting down Bob Marley & The Wailers in any way shape or form I'm just pointing out musical fact, BIG LOVE
