If anyone has had the pleasure to live around a narcissist, they are far from miserable ( on the outside at least). They get pure joy from causing others misery. There are a multitude of ways to be miserable in life. Health, mental issues, family woes, money. We all have potential to wallow in it, but most try to rise above. I do think some people enjoy feeling repressed by life, like they enjoy being pitied or feeling like a victim. Life is too short for that.
