And as we speak, Israel and America are plotting a plan to strike Iran and somehow make it look like they are defending themselves. March 15th probably is a date to watch. Like your post last week about the 67 war. You believe Egypt should have been inside Israel's territory before Israel fought back, you probably believe Iran should 'drop a load' before Israel defends itself. I read the details about the 6 day war that I was sent to on wiki and it was clear that Israel had been planing an invasion for a long time. It is possible the Egyptians were simply preparing to defend themselves against the imminent attack they knew was coming. Yes, but the 67 war did not simply involve Egypt threatening to wipe out Israel - Israel's enemies were ammased on every border and Israel was hugely outnumbered in manpower and weaponry. You did not really understand the wiki link about the 1967 war did you? I really have my doubts about that, and I don't hold wikipedia up as absolute proof or as an authority. I did read a lot of that article and Israel had been planing to invade for quite a while. And I'm not too fond of Israel's attack on the USS Liberty spy ship either. I suspect they knew exactly what they were doing even though they claim it was a mistake, I heard quite a different story. Of course, that's your perogative - to believe what you want to believe. Others can make up their own minds and prejudice does not cloud their understanding of the facts. |

Zionism is the Jewish people's worst enemy in my opinion. Zionism is a political movement to establish the State of Israel. that is all it is. Just because the majority of Zionist are Jews, does not mean that Jews are Zionists. Many Jews strongly oppose Zionism. So you seriously believe that the State of Israel is the Jewish people's worst enemy. Wow, I have heard of twisting facts but that borders on the ridiculous. How can Israel be the Jews' worst enemy. er....um.... I did NOT say that. I said that ZIONISM, which is a POLITICAL MOVEMENT to establish the state of Israel for the Jews -- is the Jewish people's worst enemy!! Zionism is the machine behind antisemitism. It is the cause of it. I don't know any Jews (and I know a lot) that oppose the State of Israel. There are some nutjobs in the ultra-religious sector who don't believe that Israel should exist until the Messiah comes, and there are a few long skirts/courdroy pant wearing lefties who are misguided but the mainstream Jewry certainly do support Israel. Israel is an incredible place and Jews, Muslims, Christians and others should be allowed to live in peace without the constant barrage of threats of violence and indiscriminate murders of innocent civilians. I'm extremely proud to be a Zionist. I am proud to be against it. Israel was founded on terrorist acts. Land is won by way of conquest and war and aggression and death. Your statement doesn't make sense. You are saying that the Zionism of 100 years ago is the enemy of the Jews nowadays??? Israel was not as you say "founded on terrorist acts" and believe me Israel was and is far far more humanitarian than its enemies are. Whilst the arabs living in Israel boast from their prison cells that they have murdered innocent babies (google the Palmer murders and the Fogel murders), Israel goes out of its way to behave with humanity and dignity. |

You're welcome. Wiki is good for facts. And as to your comments, when Israel was on the brink of anialation I consider they used their brains in this war. Remember, Israel is tiny and the surrounding nations had absolutely no idea they would be defeated which is why they boasted so much that Israel would very quickly be defeated. Some would call it good warfare on Israel's part and I would call it a miracle to win a war like that in six days. If they are smart then why do they use the excuse (lie) that attacking the USS Liberty was a "mistake?" 
I believe they are smart, and that they don't make stupid mistakes. I don't believe they were ever on the brink of annihilation. That is propaganda. The size of a country speaks nothing about their access to nuclear weapons and their outside support from America. No, they are not "tiny.." They could easily annihilate their neighbors with nuclear weapons. I think the surrounding nations boast because they are not so smart and they have their own national pride and propaganda going on. I think both sides were preparing for a war. I doubt if there was anything anyone could do to stop it. Everyone wants control of the holy land and the temple mount. All because of the mythical stories in the Bible. It is such a shame. I have asked for proof that they were amassing at the borders of Israel and no one has offered any. If it were true, then the USS Liberty Spy ship would have known exactly what was going on as that ship picks up any and all kinds of electronic and radio communication. And yet, Israel attacked that ship and destroyed any evidence that there was no such massing at the borders. At no time was Israel in danger of annihilation. A poem studied in school days is well in remembrance. When I born only I was crying everyone else around me was happy & smiling. When I died only I was happy everyone else around my dead body was sad & crying. 
There were many great saints in india who ended their life silently without any hesitation when they thought that the task for which they got this human life is completed. Saint dnyaneshwar at his 21 enter into a state of "Samadhi" because he felt that the mission of his life was complete. i don't think it even has to be this 'deep.' not everyone has a purpose in life. i'll never forget my sixth grade history teacher telling us how insignificant we are. most won't make any change in this world. i'm not saying that because we won't make a change life isn't worth living, but if our lives don't matter why would our deaths? i'm such a little ray on sunshine. haha. That is very dark. Everyone's life matters. Not only to that person but also to others and it was very insensitve for your teacher to say that and the fact you remember it still even now shows what an awful thing it was for him to say. We may not think we make a difference but everyone does, whether it is giving birth to a baby or helping someone less fortunate than yourself. There are a lot of sad lonely people out there thanks to the fact that families are scattered so a lot of people don't have extended family around them to help and encourage. A lot of people struggle on which is no wonder there is loads of people into addictive habits or taking meds for depression. I think we have all been there and done that at one time or another - it takes a huge effort to rise out of the abyss and no-one should be ashamed to ask for help to get them through the bad times. |
