There is almost no one I trust enough to completely confide in. I do not think I have ever known anyone who has not let me down at one time or another.

Yeah, people suck sometimes.

....since the list is not mine. It is from an online list (at AskMen.com, if I recall rightly), although I did some editing. (Yah...I cheated.)blushing

Was this really posted at that site? Usually their advice is valid and makes sense. This bit was just sense-less to me, however. Nothing personal intended.

Would rather know and move on....not telling is cheating him/her out of a true relationship

I agree - whether that means to move on with that person or without them.

Yes, your relationship will never be the same - but it can be stronger and better - if you work hard at it.

Keeping the secret if you really love and care for the person is just selfish and brings nothing but poison and harm to the relationship.

Then there is the issue of whether this was "a one time thing" or if the person has made a pattern of cheating on their partner in life. If they are a perpetual cheat - that adds a whole other dimension and is an entirely different ball of wax, wouldn't you say? It changes some of the arguments made in this list.

And friends care enough not to make judgments about the decisions we make, no matter how different from what they would choose. flowerforyou
