Light travels faster than any other entity in the physical universe, Apart from neutrinos, allegedly. I suspect that non-physical entities can operate quite freely outside the event horizon that the velocity of light imposes on physical entities. |

I feel that like some of our traits are genetically inherited, then past experiences are also.I feel that they are coded somehow into our DNA and then at certain times we can "remember/recall something even when have not actually done it in our lives.it would be interesting to hear other views on this topic Since the human genome has now been completely decoded into sequences of amino acids, evidence of this ought to be readily found. And yet it hasn't. However some genes are environmentally activated and deactivated, which may cause kids to have characteristics in common with their guardians which are not necessarily consistent with other kids with a similar genetic makeup but a different home environment. |

the question is, if this alien insanity happens to be true and our planet will soon face an encounter, what are you going to do about it. Call Will Smith. What if the computers of real extraterrestrial aliens don't communicate via TCP/IP? |

I guess the moderators don't consider Carl Sagan to have been a scientist, and the SETI project isn't science.

I heard they farm us for our blood and our adrenalin (from fear) is like a drug for them that makes them high. Chocolate is toxic to them. That's why I eat lots of it. Oops, someone here, mentioning no names, violated a language constraint. Has anyone else seen the Torchwood episodes about the 456, extraterrestrial aliens addicted to earth children? |

Consider how we treat cetaceans, creatures which have intelligence within an order of magnitude of our own. We kill and eat them, we pollute their environment, and now we're building wind farms there too. Extraterrestrial aliens are likely to be at least as superior to us as we are to cetaceans - if they treat us the same way our species is going to be in deep ****.

Some scientist with CERN claim to have blown Einsteins E=mc2 theory out of the water. Apparently they have found Neutrinos that can travel faster than 3.00X10^8 m/s. This will be interesting to see what they have discovered if anything. Several scientists have found minor variations on Poincare's E=Mc2 over the years, and there are phenomena which it fails to predict or explain. I think it's only a matter of time before it's superceded but as is usual in physics it is likely to be correct as a first order calculation, just like Newton's laws of gravity were superceded by Poincare. |

I asked her and she said... its a pronoun used to indicate a person, thing, idea, state, event, time, remark, etc., as present, near, just mentioned or pointed out, supposed to be understood, or by way of emphasis. and she gave "This is my coat." as an example Sigh! The etiquette of dating has moved on so much since my heyday. "Get your coat, you're pulled!" used to be the ultimate in chat-up lines. Now, apparently, women readily offer their coats to pre-empt any possible doubt of refusal. |

i wore this dress to my friends wedding. I thought i looked pretty... But not ONE person asked me to dance. I sat at the reject table by myself. Now i just feel kinda down. Unwanted. Unloved. Unattractive. Was it a heterosexual wedding? Did people there know your orientation? Were you hoping to be asked by a man, a woman or either? Speaking as a heterosexual male, you're so hot in that dress it's intimidating. |

Evolution: How much change is required to become a new species? Answer: A species is defined currently (artificial definition, for an artificially conceptualized term) as a life form that can reproduce biologically reproductive offspring. That's certainly not universally true. Take the genus Salix. The species readily interbreed and produce fertile offspring. And yet over time the intergrades tend to die away leaving only the original parent species. If the definition of species was to be rewritten to put it on a scientific footing rather than the gut instinct of zoologists and botanists, it ought to specify stability over time as a requirement. |

Assuming that frog is real, it must have the genetics to have 6 eyes That's not strictly true. Something environmental could have caused an anomaly which would not be passed down genetically cf Thalidomide on humans. |
