The nearest thing I've determined it that I may end up being talked into the island thread somehow, someway. yeah, I guess I'm pretty easy to talk into things. Part of my easy going nature I guess. Sign up on this site and within two days (or less really) I may end up on a deserted island. Beyond that I'm simply trying to get to know people .... and what patches of quicksand to avoid in the process (chuckle). This somehow seems very typical of situations I end up in. Hmmm, so I've met one of the mermaids then. The problem is trying to figure out which one that is. I've been looking through the past thread about the island and my brain sorta glazed over at the quoting loops. Is there a reader's digest condensed version of the lunatics involved in this? and whom they are or is it just a sort of free for all?

Oh my goodness Oldsage. not to worry. I'm not judging anyone by any way shape or means. Just trying to figure things out as I go along. (chuckle) My problem is that at times I think too much and don't go with the gut feelings and end up missing out on signals (never learned how to read them myself). Sorta grew up in social isolation so I never did learn. With me I never really picked up on "hints" so use a hammer if you want to get a point across just be nice about it is all I ask and if it's embarrassing? Well a private message works very well indeed.

Hmmm, as far as the It can't happen online? Well my last relationship developed online so I know that's false. Yes, i do agree from what I've seen so far Mingle seems to have a different vibe than what I would expect. Less of a meat market and more of a social center. A place for people to get together, chat and get to know each other. It should prove to be very interesting here. After a little bit of "Oh man, what have you gotten yourself into this time?" thoughts. I think I may like it here.

Mermaids eh? No problem. I spend a lot of my time in Virtual worlds like Second life or Inworldz (where I spend 99% of my time) as a non human (look at my profile for a couple pics of my avatars)and some of my best friends are Mermaids, Fairys, Elves, Dragons, Tinys and other assorted types so no problems there.

Sirens though, with their blasted singing, though can drive me nuts at times. Just ask Odysseus from the Odyssey about them.(chuckle)

ok. I'll buy the over 50 crowd, but as far as Texas? Wellto be honest I spent a couple of years there in the early 80's in the Army. Lets just say that Texas and the climate was so foreign to this Wisconsinite that my year and a half in West Germany felt like old home week. (chuckle) Got nothing against Texas itself it just wasn't for me. To each their own.

Just joined the site a bit ago so I'm kinda feeling my way around. Expect some lunacy from me once I relax a bit (and learn whom I can joke around with). Only been involved in one relationship website and that was years ago so I'm in untested waters here.

In some respects you might say the Dragon is still alive and well in our modern day times. Most notably in Virtual Worlds like Second Life and Inworldz (among others). I'm gonna try to embed a couple of pics into this post showing a couple of Dragon avatars some people cruise around in.


First an Avatar made by a friend of mine. Very customizable as far as colors, scale patterns etc. This is my own custom color job.

The only problem with such an avatar is that you can't dance in it. But that maybe fixable in the future. So in a odd way the Dragon is still around just greatly changed.

Major Genesis fan here. Mostly the Phantasy Star series and for a shooter Thunderforce 3. Now a days I use mostly emulators (Genesis, SNES, and MAME) but I do have a Vectrex in working condition.

Hello there and thanks for reading this. Please excuse me if this post takes any one of several directions (sometimes at once) my mind is a bit of a mess and rather disorganized so picking a particular direction can be difficult. Sort view this as a stream of consciousness thing going on and hang on for the ride. ok, to be brief I'm 50 and male. Never married but was close. Please read my profile for the particulars. I'm a honest man and possessing a good sense of humor. I'm also a very open book due to the fact that I'm so honest and never could lie convincingly so it's easier for me (and less confusing)if I simply tell the truth. Bad typist with a bit of dyslexia tossed in and a mind that goes all over the place. Thank goodness for spell checkers. Self taught computer nerd, video gamer, role playing gamer (pen, paper and dice variety. I often inhabit a virtual world called "Inworldz". It's a setup very similar to second life but a much smaller grid and nicer people where I run around as either a Upright Bipedal horse (with Science fiction accessories I made myself) or often as either a Tiny pony or a Dragon.

Now that I've probably scared off a bunch of you and if your still reading. Congratulations. Let's talk. I'm thinking of friendship and if something further develops? Well great!
