To balance the federal budget requires both reducing spending and growing the economy. Taking out just fraud, waste and abuse would help a lot, but growing the economy would help even more. We need jobs that create more economic benefit than they are paid for their work. Jobs that substantially increase economic benefit are those that cost $1 can create $10 or more dollars in the market place. We refer to those as manufacturing jobs, but their are many other production jobs that have the same or better impact to the economy. Creating government jobs usually does not have a huge multiplier affect like jobs that convert a natural resource to a finished product, so therefore we need to stop the growth in government and help jobs grow in other areas.
