Topic: Who's the best artist that ever lived & why?
To me some of the greatest music artists are the one of some the ones who influenced the most bands. I think artistic merit, is more important than album sales.

Take a band like Velvet Underground, their debut album only sold about 500 copies, and yet every band formed a band after listening to them (Brian Eno quote) Bands like The Stooges, MC5, Neu! Can, The Fall their influence is so strong on modern music.

Nowadays seem to be about image, and not the music.
