That would be a negative stereotype.

We are like fans of any other things like anime, games, music, etc.

But we happen to be fans of anthropomorphic animals. A good example of one would be Bugs Bunny.

Some like to dress up in fur outfits just like some anime fans like to dress up in their little costumes. I personally don't cosplay.
