The Mayans predict that something will change not that the world will end. Every supposed "ending" prophecy the Mayans had had more to do with change not endings. They predicted the rise and fall of nations that hey never had contact with. Maybe it is the fall of America and the beginning of a new empire. I know my aunt and cousins and uncles are Mayans and can read Mayan and speak it.
