Hello everyone! 1:31 am in Oklahoma and the "winds come sweeping down the plains"...how true that statement has been the past few days, 60mph and definitely "ponytail days" as the weathermen say. I'm really looking forward to getting to know those of you that I don't already know.

Having just read Morningsong's post I agree with her. I wonder if God is leading you to be with your mom at this time. Like Morningsong, I will never look back with regret at the time I spent with Mom before she passed away. Look into your heart and I know you will find the answer there. Your children and grandchildren need you in their lives but possibly at this time your mother needs you the most.

Nessa, you are in a tough spot but I've seen the courage you display in many of your posts. I was faced with the same situation and even though it's been fourteen months now since I lost my own mother, I still remember hoping and praying that I made the right decisions for Mom. Luckily when it came time for assisted living, Mom still was mentally alert and was very involved in the process of checking out when home best suited her needs and personality. We were lucky enough to chose a home that was very family oriented and the care Mom was given was exemplary. I was also blessed having a job that allowed me unlimited leave time to be with Mom. We had everything in place for her to move to where I live but unfortunately her health deteriated to the point that even with outside home health, I would not have been able to give her the quality of care she needed. I feel so blessed that in the end we were able to talk about everything but there is not a day that goes by that I don't wish for just one more day with Mom. God bless you and continue to give you strength for what lies ahead, Nessa.
