When Christians say Jesus is here, or Jesus is everywhere or Jesus in in their heart or in us all, what do they really mean? I am thinking they mean something symbolic. I am thinking they are talking about the spirit of God, or Love. They are not talking about a man. So in what way do Christians believe that Jesus will return? As a man of flesh and blood or as a spirit, entity, energy, or state of consciousness? If, according to the Bible, sex should only be engaged in for the purpose of procreation, then why wouldn't Priests, who have taken a vow of celibacy, be castrated or neutered? Wouldn't they be less distracted or tempted? The same could be said about men and women who did not want to have any more children, or after they are past the child bearing age, as for them to have sex using birth control methods would be considered unnecessary or even "sinful" according to religious teachings. How can one overcome sin completely,why is it that after i gave ma life to Jesus i still went back to ma old nature?.why's it so hard to break away from sin?.why do i find myself doing the things i never wantd but the things i wantd,i never did?.How can a young man cleanse his way?.is it possible to live a perfect and how can i go about it?. ill put it simply,, we become ADDICTED to the wordly pleasures and customs and expectations and addictions are not easy to kick,,, why does the aa member still sometimes go back to their drinking why does the health club member still go back to unhealthy diet? what becomes our habit, our addiction, even the way we are told to or choose to define ourself sometimes,,, is not often easy to drop ,,,,,or change Thank you so very much for your contribution but the goodnews we've is that in Christ Jesus we are more than conquerors.God has given us the ability to live above sins,including addiction and temptation inasmuchas we dig deep into His words and pray always.remain blessed! |

You can rid yourself of the concept of "sin" if you stop listening to religious zealots telling you what "sin" is. Listen to your true self. Do you know right from wrong or do you need someone else to tell you want is right or wrong? Have you know sense of right and wrong yourself? "Sin" is a term used by religions to control and manipulate. Hello dear,sin is not jst a term used by religion to control us.to some certain exten you might be right when talking about the sense of wrong and right.Firstly going with human understanding to overcome sin is totally and absolutely impossible,the bible says"by arm of flesh shall no man prevail".Sin is what seperates us from God and there's a spirit that controls every sin and such spirits can't be overcome by mere words or sentimental beliefs.ok, if you think it's so easy to live a perfect life with jst the knowledge of wrong and right without back it up with the word of God,why do men still committ crime?,or do you think they committ it crimes willingly and intentionally?. First of all, "crime" and "sin" are not the same thing. Hell no,nobody wants to live a bad or ruged life,rather Devil has bewitched them mentally and otherwise Bewitched them? What century are you from? People of today SHOULD BE evolved enough to take responsibility for their own actions and thoughts without having to blame it on "the devil" bewitching them. and that's y they think more of doing crimes and this all takes us back to ma topic "the renewing of minds".in Gala 5:16-18,you will see a clear battle of the minds b/w the holy spirit and the devil.and it admonishes us to walk in spirit so that we might not fulfill the lust of flesh,then go further to vs 19 and down wards and you will see the works of the flesh.you must understand that we are empowered to live a perfect life.is it possible to live a perfect life?,yes it is much more possible in 1 John 3:1-8-9.there you see that those born of devil tends to commit sin for the devil has sinned from the beginnin ,but he who's born of God commits no sin for His seed remains in him and he can't sin becos he has been born of God.how can someone be borne of God by accepting Jesus and constantly renewing his mind and by so doing,he can never sin cos God doesn't sin.i went for hospital and prison visitation/evangelim,in the prison i saw many of ma mates who are lavishing there and it really touchd ma soul and pleaded to God to rescue them.All of them are regretting,some told me why they came there.after preaching to them on the need to accept Jesus and renew their,they accepted Jesus and their minds have started to renew and by next week sunday i'm going bk to preach,encourage and help them materially.Satan is a strategist but God's an extra ordinary strategist Well you started this thread out under the guise of asking a question about why it is so hard to break away from "sin" and you asked why was it that after you gave your life to Jesus, you still went back to your old nature. Firstly i apologise for the absence of the paragraphs,maybe it's ma phone and it wont let me.You are absolutely right about the sex issue bt then there are certain things that must be considered.having sex with anybody or is not ur wife is a great sin in the eyes of Lord and there's a curse attached to it.we are only permitted to have sex when we are married and anything outside that is immorality is God greatly abhors it.i'm not under religious nuts but the holy-spirit of God lives in me,he guides and directs ma full steps and many times He speaks to me on some certain issues and i obey Him and he blesses the more.He has distinquished me among ma equals.And anytime i feel like i can't hold body again,i'll start making plan to marry so that i can have sex which's permittd by God under marriage.why should i lust after women or masturbate or desire to do evil when ma mind has been renewed and i'm dead to sin.i was speaking to some bunch of youths and i told them that there are only 3 things that destroy the youth easily and they Money,Addiction and immorality.Anyone who can abstain from this,is a perfect man.in Psalm 119 :1-3,it says "blessed are the undefiled in the way,who walk in the law of the Lord.vs 2.Blessed are those who keep His testimonies and seek Him with the whole heart.vs 3.They also do no iniquity"!.i really feel excited read this place.Glory be to God.so our youths must be thought to live and keep themselves holy till they are married.Any form of romantic relationship outside marriage is totally sin unto GOD. |

Honestly each and every one has contributed constructively and i've learnt alot from your analysises.But then studying the word of God i found out there are still more left to delibrate on.I intentionally brought out this topic knowing fully well that every individual'll have his/her own perception.Firstly i tried to explore people's thoughts of weakness towards to living a holy life.we must understand that before we can live a righteous life,we must first condition our minds.you must believe with me that whatever a man does is as a result of his thought and decision taken from his mind,heart or sense of reasoning.Thus this is the power house of every being and that's the most desired target of the devil.if someone wants to commit immorality or lust after women,he must've thought it in his mind and likewise doing good things,infact any thing that happens around a man is as a result of his thought.Therefore as christians what we need most,after we've accepted Jesus is continue renewing our minds.in Matt 15;18-20,Jesus teaches that what really defiles a man always emenates from the heart thus out of the heart proceeds evil thought in Matt.5:27-28,Jesus made it clear that lustful thinking is also a sin.Satan often attacks us with evil thoughts which if we meditate on,we are bound to fall pray to him,that's y it's important for us to kno the kind of things we do,things we watch,hear and associate ourselves with.Thank God for Apostle Paul who understood this and he opens up in Romance 12:1-2,in vs 2 he said "do not be conformed to this world be transformd by the renewing of your mind,that you prove what's that good and acceptable and perfect will of God".this shows that after one has repented,he's got to work out his salvation,thereby conditioning his thought in the word of God.in Philipians 2:5,it says let this mind be in u which also in christ.the series of questions i askd in ma post are the questions most of the youths here ask me.do u kno that after somebody has repented,there are still some unGodly characters he's bound to contend with?,in such case how can he overcome or cleanse his way.Psalm 119:9-10,in vs 1O David knew that our heart plays a major role in our actions and that was y he said"your word have i hidden in ma heart that i may nt sin against u".let me take u back to Psalm 19:14,he declears that his words of his mouth and the meditation our heart be acceptable to God.in Psalm 51-10-11,he said create in me a clean heart and renew ma spirit.time would nt permit and i would've shown a whole lot of things.therefore we must always continue to conform our heart to the word,study,pray and by so doing we are bound to overcome evil thoughts and if we can overcome thoughts then if we can exhibit good and Godly characters which are the perfect will of God.

Jesus confirms it in John 14 vs 6.Jesus knew that there are those who werent eager for the eternal life or to advance the Kingdom bt were concerned with burial and other worldly activities and that was why He called them dead people.This is situation of any person who's not born again or who's still being tempted by the things of the world where as he/she should be preaching the gospel,in Luke 9: 61-62,when the other requsted to go and bid farewell to those in his house and Jesus said "No man having put his hand to the plow and looking back is fit for the Kingdom of God".This means that anyone who has been saved but is still enticed by frevolous activities or he compromising in one way or the other will advance the Kingdom or make it to Heaven |
