I just wish the mist turned into a tropical storm

In all fairness, over the past 10 years I have noticed a major change in the attitudes of the NYC dwellers. Maybe it was the 9/11 event that changed the overall atmosphere.

Thanks Mr. Heartfelt. That's the best advise I have received so far. I will give it some thought and make some changes. Godd luck to you too. Stu

Hi Deli, I am glad that you enjoyed my poem. I have written quite a few others and I will occasionally post them. I just read your profile and you don't live that far away from me. Hint Hint

Thanks Sharris, That poem was inspired when I lived in NYC. It always amazed me how cut throat the daily grind was during the year until the holiday season came around. Then like magic, poof, people were ultra kind, generous, throwing parties and just plain happy. After new years, it was back to the grind. I guess we should just be grateful for that brief magical holiday time. Stu

I reach out to lots of the ladies, but very rarely get any responses. Sometimes I feel like a leper. What is wrong with my profile?

I wrote this many many many many, OK, I am up there in years :)

Holiday

Life it moves
along the streets
with holiday cheer
for our taking.

Spirits are high
as we feel the warmth
of a race
that is forgetting

the tragedy of days
throughout the year
of gaining stature
without remorse

For behind those clouds
we spend our beats
afraid to show concern

but at this time
the clouds disperse
and the hand of love
it lifts us

and for a moment
we show joy
from the unity
of a passion

Somewhere in time
a baby is being born
and somewhere out there
are people that are worn

somewhere in time
is a person with hope
and somewhere out there
are those who can't cope

somewhere in time
are loving families in bliss
and somewhere out there
are souls never missed

somewhere in time
a river changed its course
and somewhere out there
someone has suffered a loss

somewhere in time
the sun has become rain
and somewhere out there
a loss turned into gain

I am out there
along with the rest
and somewhere out there
I am doing my best

for time is a slice
of a much greater scheme
and somewhere in time
I will become everything
