Your 19 years old... you have your entire life head of you.

I think it's sad you feel hopeless at 19...surprised

My gawd, I was having the time of my life then.

Young hearts be free tonight..time is on your side

that seems to be common, i've seen lots of young people frantic to find "the one" as if their life depends on it. i agree, it's sad at that age.

That was me, met him when I was 17, was convinced that was no other one for me, married him at 21, was divorced about 4 years later! I'm living up life now and not in such a hurry to do anything but be happy!

You have to be happy with yourself before you can be happy with someone else!

What scale are you using to measure it's weight? You mentioned a kitchen scale... What is the accuracy? To what place past the decimal point do we have to obtain in answer?
Its a food scale....the accuracy is dead on.

is it digital?

When I worked as an optician, the best part of my job was teaching people how to put contacts in. The reaction you get from people when you say ok, I'm going to take it out for you now and go to grab their eyeball! laugh I would laugh the whole time telling them to stop blinking...

The company I worked for gave the employees a $500 a year allowance for their own glasses and contact needs... I went crazy with contacts. I had sets in all different colors. I thought about seeing about getting a part time job there again just for the allowance!

One of my hobbies includes randomly emailing people, I do it for the fun of things, I'm not looking for anything more than friends. Most of the time I don't get responses back. No loss to me, it's their loss for not wanting to talk to me. Give it time, you've only been here a very short time. Things will happen eventually, you just can't try to rush it, or it will never happen.

I don't know about the astigmatism, but I have worn contacts since I was 16 and I love them. My problem is now that I need reading glasses or bifocals. I wonder if they make contacts for that? Bifocal contacts? Not sure how that would work.

They do, they are weighted so the bifocal part is always where it needs to be. It takes some patience in getting the right ones to work for you, but they do exist. They also do what I think, if i remember right, is a thing called mono vision... What they do it they give one eye a contact for distance, and one eye a contact for reading. This also takes a lot of patience in getting use to. You basically have to train your eyes so that one looks far and one close up.

I think contacts are great, I don't wear them anymore, but I use to. I have also been thinking about going back and getting them again. You don't have to give up on glasses all together, it's an advantage to pick and choose which you want to wear on what day. I don't always want to wear my glasses, so I just do without. I could save a lot of headaches, literally, if I would just go get contacts.
