If you are heartbroken, talk to friends and family, though that can keep you feeling bitter and stuck. Maybe talk on here, but until you are more clear about the background, people will have little to engage with.

If it is a recent trauma or delete disappointment, perhaps with family or partner, the seek professional help. Talk to a doctor or therapist or LGBT agency.

You can get help, and itnodpes get better.

Take a look at your profile: what does it sappy about you? Is there a variety of images of you, and maybe places you love; is there info about your interests and activities?

At a different level, think about what you expect as different sites offer different things. Some like
Gaydar tend to be for older guys, fabguys and fabsingles tends to be for local hookups,as they are called, while Grindr has a more immediate range, again with different interests represented.
I know, I have looked at them.

If you are wanting friendship perhaps leading to something more, that is difficult as (gay) men, and the sites themselves, seem to go for instant connections. There are sites for guys into different pursuits like Outdoor Lads and Gay Outdoor Club. I don't yet know if the community pages here offer similar opportunities.

So it is a combination action of knowing what you want, presenting it well, being patient and perhaps being imaginative.

Good luck

Is it because they are in a rush, or don't know what to say? Perhaps Hey is the.modern thing: rrying to.be friendly yet casual?
As for the "I'll tell you later": is it the default for an empty profile, a pause until confidence returns, they get a reply, or the curfew has ended?
Just say a few words guys, even if it's a favourite quote or what.your friends say about you, it's a start.
