I've always liked creating images. I've been shooting photos for over thirty years now. (MAKES ME SOUND OLD!) If you want to get a digital camera I'd be prepared to drop $800 - $1000 on a good one. You'll save a lot just in film and processing. I'd recommend a brand you are familiar with. The transition is easier, plus if you have AF lenses you can usually use them on the digital and save some cash. Just remember the ratio isn't the same, you'll have drop off around the edges, (the image is too big for the ccd)
