I have a bit of an interest in photography,my specialist subjects are macro shots of insects and arachnids, plus wildflowers.
Also shoot urban decay type shots, ruins and derelict buildings, burnt out stolen cars in a fine art style, and the odd industrial wasteland shot.

I do have a gallery on deviantart if anybody would be interested in looking at it?

Enjoyed going through it. I need to grab a thumb drive and load the one of the bumblebee on the wisteria flower from last year.

And the horses were a lovely shot, until I read your comments.

Thank you very much, and thank you for looking! happy
That is why I put the shots on there,to try and raise peoples awareness as to the way horses and ponies are treated. sad2
You should see the state some of the poor creatures are in,they have injuries nobody bothers to treat as they are going to be slaughtered anyway, plus they have no water to drink apart from the stagnant water in the ditches if they can get to it? sad2
This country has a lot to be ashamed of with the treatment of animals here.

Dang, and I thought that was just here in the US. I'm getting hits daily with horses needing help, (just took one in about 3 weeks ago, as a matter of fact, though he wasn't in poor shape, just neglected) and there's been three large rescues within the past 30 days where the local SPCA and Human Society are called in to get the horses out, anywhere from 15-40 horses, starved almost to the point of death with carcasses lying about.

Glad to hear those two are doing alright.

Sadly no,with the financial situation here at the moment there are more unwanted horses and ponies than ever, the sanctuaries and charities that normally give them homes have more than they can afford to keep,so there is nothing they can do to help. sad2
Unfortunately in France horse is considered a delicacy,so these despicable people who claim to be horse lovers see a way to make easy money from supplying horse meat for the French restaurants and dinner tables. mad
The government did try and stop the trade and banned the export of live horses and ponies for slaughter,so they get around that law by having them slaughtered here and ship the carcasses to France instead.
Thank goodness you are able to do something to help the situation there, and that there are other people who also care.
It really makes you wonder what is in the minds of those who can cruelly mistreat any animal or cause its death for fun?
Here dog fighting has been illegal for almost 200 hundred years I think it is,but now its a very popular "sport" again, fox hunting has been banned, but they are still campaigning to change the law so they can go back to their traditional way of life as they call it and enjoy the sight of a pack of dogs tearing a living creature to pieces?
With up to 40 horses being treated like that, what sort of people are they that can do that, there can not be the slightest amount of humanity or compassion in them for any life form?
Its a shame I am in England,it would be wonderful to photograph a happy ending with a horse or any animal, even just once.sad2

Thank you very much! happy
I tried to get the car reflected in the puddle too,but there was just no way possible to do it? tears
As you must have noticed,I do have a fascination for burnt out cars, stripped of shiny paint and plastic trim the remaining skeletons have their own strange beauty, plus make a quite powerful statement of decay in the disposable society.
Have you thought of trying deviantart yourself?
It is a very friendly site, plus there is no upload limit like on flickr, and the only real drawback is me being a member! laugh

I did actually have a flickr account, abandoned it as I did not like flickr very much to be honest, people on there are not very friendly I found?
There is a bit of sort of good news about the two ponies, they are still alive and I think somebody must have bought them, spotted them in a field today and would recognize those two rascals anywhere!
They are both very friendly and mischievous, and it would not surprise me if somebody fell in love with them and saved them? happy

aww..ok :(
well im still new to flickr and im not aware of that..sad to hear.
but good news to the ponies!
yay for them rofl im happy for them :)

You might find flickr ok and it could just be me?
I can be slightly outspoken on subjects I feel strongly about, and do have a very strange sense of humour that can be a tiny bit acidic and often borders the surreal,so..... winking
Those two were lucky,I just wish all the others in the same situation could have such luck? sad2

Which was?

Basically I take shots of cruelty and mistreatment of animals, and put them on the internet in the hope of making people aware of what goes on?
The horses are unwanted pets,a certain group of people buy them cheaply at an auction, when they have a lorry load they send them off for slaughter for the meat trade.

If a man judges a woman on her size, and uses that as a criteria as to whether he should date her rather than going by her personality,he is really not worth worrying about anyway? huh
From personal experience,if you are attracted to somebody you probably would not even notice they consider themselves overweight, thats what they look like and you accept that as being part of who they are.
Why women worry so much about their weight is one of lifes mysteries?

wanna get married???? LMAO!!flowerforyou love  happy

Would English country life appeal to you as I live in a village in the Kent countryside in an early Victorian cottage, its four miles to the nearest town which has a 10th century castle and a 12th century cathedral, plus shops and buildings going back to the 14th century. biggrin
Its about an hours drive to London, and less than two hours on the train to Paris, and its close to the sea as well,so have the best of all worlds really?
But if that is not to your taste,I shall meet you at the airport tomorrow evening? flowerforyou

hmmmm....decisions, decisions!!! how's healthcare there these days? ROFLlaugh laugh laugh laugh

It is a tough one I must admit? slaphead
Healthcare does depend on which health authority the area you live in comes under, some are very good, but others, well, lets just say it may be best to write a will at the first sign of the slightest ailment? ohwell
So it does pay to be a bit crafty like me and use different addresses, then you pick the one that gives the greatest chance of survival and recovery! winking

Even after a 100 lb weight loss

I'm still chunky!!

Never ever breathed in a slim body

just wonder what it feels like:heart:

If you did have this "slim" body, would you really be happy?
Always being hungry and never being able to enjoy the foods you would like to eat,and having to constantly watch and worry about every calorie?
From your photo you have a very pretty face, you are still the same person whatever size you are,try and accept your figure and looks and be proud of them?

It's nice that some men think this way. However, you can see just from this thread one of the reasons women worry about their weight. Look at some of the replies. But, as I said in my previous post, it's all a matter of preferences.

Yes I see what you mean! sad2

You are right with what you say about confidence,as I mentioned in my last post,I have known and met some very large ladies who were confident with their size and knew they were attractive, with the way they dressed and hair and make-up,they knew how to make the most of themselves and get noticed in the right way, they were very beautiful women.
Yes,with preferences,it must be pretty obvious I do find larger ladies attractive, thats not a hard and fast rule though as I go by personality first, but there are a lot of men out there like me who also like the fuller figure.

That's a real nice sentiment andrew...the reason women 'worry' about their size is because it is a constant issue. Of course with matters of the heart is doesn't matter...
the media has taught women to be beautiful, stay in shape, and men have showed us for hundreds of years that it does matter by choosing the more "fit, healthy, trim, attractive girl" over the out of shape, heavier girl.

Really isn't such a mystery.. just comes down to preference, like everything else. Nice to know some men do feel that way though.

Yes,I see what you are saying, but the media is just a fantasy world they have created and most people realise that, reality is very different and none of us are perfect in our own eyes?
You say "fit, healthy, trim, attractive" but size does not really come into it if somebody is attractive,I have known and met some extremely large ladies who have very beautiful faces, they were confident and accepted the way they were built, that did show with the way they dressed and acted, and they had no shortage of men chasing after them.
But on the other hand, over the years I have known or dated what were considered very beautiful and perfect women, models etc. and to be quite honest the personality of most of those did leave quite a lot to be desired, they were very much in love with themselves with not much room left for anybody else in their lives.
