When I lay my head down for the night,
I hope the sandman will soon arrive.
For then maybe I will again dream of you,
When our love was oh so true.

In dreams I can see your smile so sweet,
Your eyes of blue oh so deep.
While I slumber your face does appear,
And for just a little while I have you near.

I feel your arms hold me oh so tight,
Whispering loving things all thru the night.
Thru my hair I feel your fingertips,
As you gently kiss me with your soft lips.

I feel your body close to mine,
as I hear you softly sigh.
I look in your eyes and see only me,
just as I thought it would always be.

Too soon I awake and again it is dawn,
and once again I realize you are gone.
Wishing that I could again go back to sleep,
and dream again of your love so sweet.

So I'll have to live thru another day,
Just waiting for the slow hours to wile away
So in dreams again you I can find,
for you will forever be in my heart and mind
