umm as ase master tech id advise you to call your friendle ford dealer with the vin number....and see if the recall for the cruise switch applys to this truck and if its been done.....that thingy as you described is a switch to deactivate the cruise control when you apply the brakes.....and that is under a recall for leaking......ohh and causing wiring harness fires when it shorts out......have a beautiful day
