I know what you mean about cortico steroids. I had to take them for about 6 months due to severe asthma and the weight gain was terrible. I was bloated and retaining water and my face was very round and swollen. The nurses called it a moon pie.
That was all more than ten years ago, and since then I have lost 110 pounds. It has been a slow process, and I am diabetic as well, but now that I have kept the weight off my breathing has improved at least 50% and I find the more exercise I do, the more I am able to do. But it takes a lot of determination and tenacity. You can't let things get you down. If you're trying to put down a bad habit, like cigarettes for instance, it helps to know that cravings are temporary, and it is possible to distract yourself by redirecting your train of thought so you don't focus on the craving. And you can't quit quitting. If you backslide a little bit, don't give up. Don't ever give up where there is life and breath there is hope. Approach everything from a position of love and light and stay away from brooding on the past or worrying about the future. Live in the now. I am 55 years old and I've had hip replacement surgery and a brain aneurysm. Only 13% of people survive a brain aneurysm. And you know what? I feel better than I ever have before in my life. I am living better, I have more confidence, and I am secure in the knowledge that I belong here and so does everyone else in the Universe. It is possible to have a better world and it can begin with you, and me, and your neighbors and family and friends everywhere. Spread positive energy and you will enjoy positive energy. Love and you will be loved. Good luck and God bless! |
