Dual Cores

Totally a boytoy. :P
Ok, So Dual Cored currently might not be able to help your games as much as you like, like you will not see a 100% improvement. What you will see is better multitasking and a lot higher performance if you do things like MP3 or Video encoding. The truth is not a lot of programs are made to take up all of the advantages of multi-threading. However, the good thing is, the new dual core processors use a 65nm processes. Smaller=faster and cooler. The new Dual core processors will perform much faster then older processors but still use less power (which means less heat). Also the newer processors have been designed to do more instructions per clock cycle. That means that your 2.4Ghz Pentium 4 is not the same as a 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo. That Core 2 Duo would still be about 50-70% faster. But I don't play games so I wouldn't know. :P |
