Ok, So Dual Cored currently might not be able to help your games as much
as you like, like you will not see a 100% improvement. What you will see
is better multitasking and a lot higher performance if you do things
like MP3 or Video encoding. The truth is not a lot of programs are made
to take up all of the advantages of multi-threading.
However, the good thing is, the new dual core processors use a 65nm
processes. Smaller=faster and cooler. The new Dual core processors will
perform much faster then older processors but still use less power
(which means less heat). Also the newer processors have been designed to
do more instructions per clock cycle. That means that your 2.4Ghz
Pentium 4 is not the same as a 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo. That Core 2 Duo would
still be about 50-70% faster.
But I don't play games so I wouldn't know. :P
