Last Saturday night I went on the first date I've been on in 26 years (not counting 25 years of marriage). I put forth effort and it just didn't fly. It's like falling off of a horse and you don't know what caused you to fall but you know you have to get back on and try again. 
Jeez Katz! Sorry it didn't work out... When that has happened to me, and it HAS, I just throw it back at him, laugh and say 'sorry man, you just blew a good thing....let me know how it works for you'
I met a man one time. I had heard that he wouldn't take anyone out without sleeping with him...he said if he put out $100.00 on dinner and the meet, he expected to get laid! He actual told me this!  Well DUH!
Well I bought the coffee, and when he asked me to dinner, I told him sorry but I had a younger man waiting for me who didn't expect a woman to prositute herself for dinner. He flat out didn't know how to handle that..it was so funny, all the excuses he came up with! after all the weight loss, a man told me, he was sorry, but my stomach would not allow him to keep it up. I kindly told him , his protrusion or lack of was strictly a making of his brain activity.. silly man.. Good for you!

You seem like a pretty strong willed lady. Might scare many of the men out there. Keep looking, you'll find one. Kiss alot of frogs, to find a prince (like me).    
Don't give up, Katz....Get back on the horse, and above all, BE YOURSELF. You are a beautiful woman, and have a lot to offer. From someone with many years of internet dating experience, believe this: it is a numbers game. You will, indeed meet many frogs....yet you will meet friends as well...and somewhere..out there..is that prince. Don't give up! It is perfectly normal to email someone or even talk to them for weeks/months...and then meet them.....and they turn out to be completely different from what you were expecting. You will meet men with whom you have no common interest, men with whom you have no chemistry....but beware, above all, of those who misrepresent themselves. And it happens often. Just do it... I have met a bunch of frogs...and kissed a few.... Have had men swear they were in love with me before we ever met....as if that were possible!... I wear reading glasses. I never thought much of it. I've only needed them for about a year. Anyway, the other day I was in a bar with my laptop. When I put on my glasses the young lady tending the bar (someone I've known for some time) said she thought my glasses were "sexy." She had never flirted with me before. So, my question is; do you find glasses sexy? No. I find some men sexy. Just as clothes don't make the man, nor do glasses. It's got alot more to do with attitude...and manners.
