I dated a bi-polar for many years. It is tough and it gets tougher with time. So this is offensive "I dated a bipolar". I am not a bipolar, that is like saying I dated a diabetic or I dated a cancer. More appropriate is I dated someone who has bipolar disorder. I am not my disease.

Accurate ! Thanks for sharing this. I have bipolar disorder and I am very open about it. It is treatable, it is also usually lifelong. It is difficult to be with someone if they have this disorder and do not recognize it and are not being treated (successfully).
