i think text messaging is a nice way to keep in touch, or for times when a conversation isn't right. the text speak bothers me, because now it's becoming a way of having a conversation. the little icons help to show emotion, but still a verbal conversation can't be beat. context and emotion matter to me when processing the data given to me in a conversation and text messaging just doesn't have that. the time when a telephone number was given with letters (CApital5-5555) gave way to seven digit, then ten digit. ah, times they are a-changin
