Only if it protects them for a short period of time until you can make whatever is wrong right. For example: Said loved one loses something. Tell them you found it (when you didnt) and buy said loved one a new thing. But in more serious situations... no.

12 hour World of Warcraft binges!! Holds the hypospray of gaming goodness to his neck TSSSST or the look of utter horror on the teens face working at the ticket booth; when they realize I just want ONE ticket. or not having to go to family functions... "What? no easter egg hunt at the in-laws?" awwwwww bummer! But above all else..... No holding the "purse of shame" with that vacant stare while standing in the womens department!! Hm...
