Thanks to ya'll for the replies..:)
Ill check out the typos (thanks). Joe...I dont blame you for not reading the entire profile...if it was a guys I was reading, doubt Id read it all either..:)! Happy New Year to everyone too! I wasnt real sure I was going to be around after Christmas night...the Tornados that hit this area, were bad, last I heard 11 dead. The big one that killed the majority of people came about a 1/4 mile from me, I watched it silhouetted by the tremendous lightening, heard it as it headed north to I-30 & George Bush HWY/Toll Road where it destroyed most everything on the south side of I-30...just piles of rubble & destroyed trucks/cars. I saw all the damage as I went to my daughters house the day after Christmas after it struck, debris pulled to the mediums (north/south) sides of I-30 from night before to clear 30 for traffic had not been removed yet...red primered steel I Beams twisted into pretzles/washing machines/ceiling fans/tress/ building materials/clothes, you name it...of course it took me 2 hours to go maybe 2 miles because of the morbid rubber neckers, morons. Rescue teams with dogs were still combing 2 story high piles of debris. Prayers needed for these people who lost so much and some lost everything. I had a company that adjusted losses such as this,tornados/floods/fires etc., residential & commercial, for over 20 years. IF you have not experienced a disaster such as this first hand...you tend to think.."oh, the Insurance company will replace everything"...well, yes & no...the material things such as furniture/appliances/clothes, and structure, yes...but...the personal items like marriage photos, baby photos, that "something special" your Mom that is gone had left you, no, those items are gone for ever...and most anyone that has lost everything they own in a matter of seconds or minutes, are in shock, seriously. When I had my company it was painful for me having to deal with these folks so soon after the incident, bad bad....didnt mean to ramble just thought it would be good for people to realize how traumatic these things are for those that do go thru them...thanks again for the replies...and a safe & Happy New Year! PS: BIG TIP!! TAKE PICTURES OF EVERYTHING YOU OWN! IF A DISASTER STRIKES AND DESTROYS EVERYTHING YOU OWN, TRUST ME, YOU WILL NOT REMEMBER EVERY LITTLE THING YOU OWNED!! THE INS. COMPANY WILL PAY YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE PICTURES OF! TAKE THE PHOTOS AND PUT THEM SOMEWHERE SAFE, SAFETY DEPOSIT BOX/FIREPROOF SAFE ETC. THOSE ITEMS YOU DO NOT REMEMBER DURING THIS TRAUMATIC TIME, IF YOU HAVE PICS OF THEM, YOU WILL BE SURPRISED HOW MANY THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS THEY WILL ADD UP TO IN YOUR POCKET!! |
