Women not to preach/teach?

The Bible, the word of God, The sword, The way He speaks to us.
The first thing I want to say is that the passage needs to be taken into context. Who it was written for, why, the time period. At that time Christianity was in its infancy. Women at that time were not allowed to even be in a room with men discussing anything let alone eating a meal with the men. The men were the only ones teaching the laws/ Bible. The problem of the time period was that at that time women were not as educated as men were. Women were beginning to teach from a point of view that lacked knowledge. Paul wrote the letter as a reminder to women their place in the current church for that time period. When teaching Gods Word, Paul was insisting accuracy and speaking this to the people. There was never a verbal beat down for women. Women have their place teaching and preaching totally inspired by the Holy Spirit. God does not discriminate. The same Holy Spirit lives in all Christians who believe in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior! A promise that was given to those who would believe. |
