first of all Tongues is a prayer language.
I have to wonder, r these comments written by christians or what? does
anyone read the bible?? read 1st Corinthians 14 over and over and over.
I could break it down here but that would be too long. just dont
misinterpret when he is talking about the church(public setting) or on a
personal level. thats why we need tongues b/c we wont believe the junk
that other people say esp. pastors(sad to say). thats why in John it
says no one will teach us when we have the Holy Spirit b/c he teaches us
all things. also read through the book of Acts, notice what happens
after the encounter in the upper room. Tongues enables us to stop living
powerless lives b/c christians are not to be powerless. tongues enables
us to be edified above weaknesses and deception read Jude v20. when he
says in 1st Cor. about speaking without an interpretor, he meant in a
public setting(church)the people who get up and speak in tongues without
interpreting are not to do that (then they say "oh the Holy Ghost was on
me I couldnt control it" thats a lie)the churches that dont believe in
tongues tend to be powerless. does any one ever wonder why tongues is at
the bottom of the gifts of the spirit thats b/c it is the foundation for
all the others. there r different type of tongues
1. Edification Jude verse 20, 2. Interpretation 3. intercession Romans
8:26 4. sign to the unbeliever acts 2(day of pentecost
so lets not mix them up.
think about it Paul said in verse 18 of 1 Cor. that he pray/speak in
tongues more than us all and he wrote 2/3rds of the new testament and
did more stuff than the disciples who walked next to Jesus, Paul wasnt
on the scene with them. so tongues is a prayer language that you allow
the Holy Spirit to pray through you to build you up(strenghten you) the
Bible says THEY PRAY as the spirit gives utterance Acts 2:4 he form the
words, you pray it out. now the holy spirit wants to pray the perfect
prayer for your life which was in God's plan from day 1. its the purging
of the things that we dont need - those things that prevents us from
hearing God(yes hearing God)if any one prays in tougues then you know
what I am talking about. its a good thing we dont understand it, think
about when you r praying and you realize that you r praying against the
appetites that you like wouldn't you stop? I would
1 Cor 14:2, v 4.
he say your understanding is unfruitful b/c its directly from your
spirit and your understanding is inthe realm of your soul thats why we
dont understand it
but we can pray forthe interpretation(sometimes he gives us the
interpretation)
he bypasses our mind where we can mess it up and change words and go
directly to our spirit from our spirit to His
Yongues can change ANY situation in your life, I dont care how bad it
seems you can pray your way out of it

I would encourage every christian to pray in tongues just as you would
pray in english
thats why the body of christ is so weak and powerless b/c we are
complacent and dont read the bible for ourselves believe the Bible and
not just the words of someone behind a pulpit.
