first of all don't feel that you've become weak or you need a man to support you. You are strong enough to control your life. And confront the man about issue of fidelity and don't let yourself fooled by any of his fake promises. It is the basic human instinct that mind knows when a person is saying sorry because of guilt or just faking it.

if a person is really, you feel is feeling guilty, give him another chance. And if he is likes someone else, so its better to part your ways. Nobody can make anyone love him/her.
