Why do we as people feel the need to place lables on groups, like Goth, or Prep, Or Punk or Skater?

some people fit into groups. if you're wearing a uniform of that label...
why do so many people insist on being the same while trying to be different? |

because without labels to seperate us, we are no different than the rest of the sheeple. we have to stand out.

It's been happening since the beginning of mankind, though I dunno why.

i dont label... i dont like to be put in jar much less be a labeled one

i feel they end up creating problems. they create groups of people who band together as one label then dont socialize out side that label... am i not a person too? do i not bleed red just as they do?

Some people have charecter traits/attitude/behaviors which are associated with a group so they are labeled as being part of the group.

I think its easier to love/hate a group of people then it is to like/dislike each person as an individual
so if u dont like red,put everyone wearing red in a group and hate them. If u like black put everyone wearing black into a group and love them. Dont bother taking the time to get to know each person,they couldnt possibley have differnt points of view.they are wearing red/black judge them and be done with it |

Dont bother taking the time to get to know each person,they couldnt possibley have differnt points of view.they are wearing red/black judge them and be done with it I would have to agree People are afraid of what they don't understand so it's easier to label them and dislike certain groups then to try to understand and get to know individuals!
