Don't quite understand this statement, as it can be taken by a wider national view or a personal view. A paradox this is, yes me thinks paradox.

What hurts even more is when you allow your own people to see you through the eyes of those that you perceive to hate you.

Maybe it is simply that they see from outside the box? Love or no love......there is always other answers. Other ways to see, hear. and believe.

I have been one that sees all sides. From those I don't care for to those I love. Doesn't mean I take the loved ones side.

Interesting...

I was watching an episode of "My Name is Earl" once, and there was this guy in prison for stealing cars (I guess?). He used to be a boy scout, and was really a good person. However, when he would walk down the street people were afraid of him because of how he dressed and looked. He saw his reflection in a car window, and would see himself as they saw him, so he picked up a rock and shattered the window, and stole the car.

When he got out of prison he became a scoutmaster (or whatever), he wore the uniform everywhere, because he was proud of himself, he got teased by some kids, but when he saw his reflection in a car window again, he was proud and not ashamed.
