I haven't been on here in a long time! I went to Mexico for 10 days it was great.

Anyways in the past week I've had 2 dreams about either being raped, or have been raped and I wake up so scared, i sit straight up and feel very disoriented. My heart is pounding. I'm really not sure if it means anything but it's really been freaking me out. I've never been raped so it's not like its Post traumatic stress syndrome or anything. I'm not sure how anyone could help, but maybe if you're good at interpreting dreams it could help a little.

You may want to talk to a professional

That person would have expirience with your problem

it means this>

it suggests that you are feeling violated in some way. Something or someone is jeopardizing your self-esteem and emotional well-being. You feel that someone or something is being forced upon you. Dreams of rape are also common for those who were actually raped in their waking life.

No Pat...

Dreams are just dreams.

Sometimes they can be about something you saw or read, they can be symbolic... but they do cause real life feelings of disconcertment and unrest during waking hours.

It has been said that having dreams about rape is based upon opposite sex boss, parent, or co-worker... others say dreams of rape are about an immediate warning in your life, or they represent feelings of powerlessness you have in any area of your life... take your pick.

Rape is not just about sex so I would not think it means just that in a dream either. flowerforyou

I'd say ignore the dream/nightmare. You're mind is doing nothing more than providing you with a little "edge of the seat" entertainment as you sleep. Recurring dreams and nightmares are not at all unusual. As you sleep, studies have shown that your brain is busy at works sifting through, dumping and storing information. Just as you need to be mentally entertained during consciousness, so the need exists to be mentally entertained while asleep. Try not to dwell on it because worrying about it may be what's triggering the recurrence. Worry is not only a feeling but a thought process, too. The subconscious at night will often play worry thoughts out for "entertainment" as it determines where to store that info.
