Can a building have a soul? A building that has scene the likes of two popes, Billy Graham, Joe Louis, Max Schmelling, Muhamed Ali, Ken Norton, Billy Joel, The New York Football Giants, Pink Floyd, U-2, Presidents, Babe Ruth, Lou Gherig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle, Roger Maris, Yogi Berra, Billy Martin, Phil Rizzuto, Casey Stengel, Whitey Ford, Reggie Jackson, Thurmon Munson, Don Mattingly, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Fathers and sons, Mothers and daughters, Brothers and sisters and of course, The Bleacher Creatures, all sharing joy, Tragedy, Triumph and defeat.
Can a building have a soul? A building where millions of people shared history, Lived history. A building where I remember to this day the first time I entered the gates and walked through the tunnel to see all that beautiful green grass in the middle of all that concrete and steel. A building where I'll never forget bringing my son to, To share the magic of a place that so few places can claim to have.
Can a building have a soul? How can it not when a dying man can stand in it and say that he was the luckiest man on the face of the Earth?
Can a building have a soul? It must, Because I've given it a peice of mine.
