an organ donor? If not, then why not?

i'm not only an organ donor, i'm a full body donor.
when i die, they'll first take whatever useful parts they can for donation and then send me to my church for a catholic funeral, which they'll pay like 800 bucks for. after the funeral, i'm being shipped to the genesis foundation, where MDs will practice new and exciting medical techniques on what's left of my body... after a year, they'll cremate me and send me home to my family. |

Im not. I do however donate blood whenever they have the blood drives and I am able to... The thought of someone else walking around with parts of me creeps me out.

I am, I almost gave one of my friends one of my kidneys about a year ago but he got a different one so I could keep mine...

the plan is now for my body to go to KU med center... My dad did it, and it was pretty awesome.

I like that! Well, I'll go for a part instead of a funeral... my family are all VERY devout catholics. i can't even imagine what they'd do if they weren't able to have me present for the funeral. of course, a catholic funeral isn't necessarily depressing...we ARE irish catholic, after all. they aren't expensive, either, since the church doesn't charge out the rear like others do. (coffins and burials, on the other hand...wow.) so i'm saving my family from having to pay for me...at the same time, providing life and education. |
