Scars

The sky is covered in scars,
All from our simple wish to fly.
Yet, even as we destroy Her,
Our victim seeks to protect us.
Weakened and scarred,
A fever running high,
Still she hides us,
Her wayward, roaming children.
Far from Her lap we have strayed,
Leaving havoc in our wake.
But now we have grown,
Realised what we've done,
Turned around and weeped,
Pleading "I didn't know!"
Asking for our ignorance to forgiven,
The simple experiments of a child.
We try and undo what we've done.
She is our Mother, Mum, Mom,
And Her love for us will let Her do
Nought but forgive us.
Yet have we strayed too far?

I look at the sky and see stars,
As I freeze inside a fire.

War

A golden flash across a blood red sky,
The sun has set; missiles scream across
This gathering dusk; as an albatross
Falls screaming from the clouds, the music cries
In harmony with the old bird that dies.
As the fallen albatross rests on soft water,
So you find yourself at a loss
You are meant to be dead, for you cant fly.
Still, the shockwaves still flows around the air,
From the torpedo that was not for you.
Although it wasnt yours, life is unfair;
Falling bombs hurt more than they needed to.
As the shock subsides, you start not to care,
And start to hope it is heaven for you.

Welcome to the Circus
or
Cyanide in Cusard Pies

Welcome to the Circus
The Clowns are laughing
The Moon is a silver sliver smile grinning
Put on your masks
And listen to the Ringmaster
Dance to his Tune.

"Welcome, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Liers and Fakers.
Don't worry...
We won't tell."

The Audience claps,
They cheer and roar.
The Lion's mouth a cave we'll leave no more.
Put on your masks
And listen to the Ringmaster
Dance to his Tune.

"Next up, Incubus and Succubus-
Nightmares and Twins.
Be prepared for Life
Beyond your dreams"

Silence pervades every corner,
A million screams unsaid.
Nightmares watched as two bats dance.
Put on your masks
And listen to the Ringmaster
Dance to his Tune.

"Cheer for the Incubus and Succubus -
Wake up a bit!
Next the Clowns.
They'll liven you up, surely."

Cyanide in Custard Pies,
Clowns slipping on Thalidomide.
They're looking for audience participation.
Put on your masks
And listen to the Ringmaster
Dance to his Tune.

"Now, I need a brave volunteer.
Anyone? Anyone at all?
Oh, come on!
The Acid spray wasn't that strong!"

Welcome to the Circus
The Clowns are laughing
The Moon is a silver sliver smile grinning
Put on your masks
And listen to the Ringmaster
He turns to You.

"This Audience are all regulars,
They haven't moved for years.
But I must admit, without muscles,
Moving is pretty hard"

"You are doomed, you do know that,
so long as you carry on this pathway?"
He said to me as he sat on my bed.
Confused, I said,
"But it has brought so much joy,
and knowledge, to this world."
"Pain and suffering too, remember?"
I did remember.
"What do you wish for me to do?"

"You have not done what I aksed of you!
I warn you the apple is poisoned,
and yet you still devour it!"
He was angry.
This didn't happen often.
I was intruiged, but worried all the same.
"I need more time. Just a little longer."
"A little longer?"
Calmed down, he sat on my bed again,
patting me down next to him.
"A little longer you shall have."
Fading away, he left me alone again.

"Yes, I know, I have not done anything.
But I have."
Before he could express his anger, I said that.
"So. What have you done?"
Pacing around my room, he was much more angry than last time.
He had even begun to look like his distant cousin.
"I have decided."
I felt a small triumph at this.
He did not rule me.
"What? Two weeks and you have decided?!
What has taken you so long to decide?"
"I have decided,"
He could not hurt me.
"Not to follow you."

And in the silver gossamer blessing of moonlight they danced, smiling and happy, free from the world.
And into the water the stars had jumped, to tell tales and sing and dance and revel in freedom.
Around the clearing green guards watched in wonder, moving their feet out of the way, retracting roots that had taken years to grow, all on the whim of watching them dance.
In all the twirling, wings unfurling, a sliver of gold, mere sympathetic trinket, slipped from her neck and was forgotten in the leaves.
As her life was spelled out in the footsteps, and would end when the dance did, so his was only thought of. Sturdy, solid, as real as smoke, her was but a wish, the step of his feet only the birth of thought that led to him. He dressed in real illusion, her in dreams of a forgotten day, both knew how she was being caught and ensnared. And neither cared.

Shown the world, so many things, life itself had given her wings.
Cradling the moon in feathers fair, she loved him still as her burned her hair.
Reaching up with arms so bright high into the dazzling night, her existence was over, her life began, and turning from him she ran, she ran.
And holding her body, he let her go. Never again was she to know that he had loved her, for a dance.
But a dance is the length of eternal shame, never again would she feel pain.
He'd given his hopes, his dreams, his force to let her river run it's course.
Heaven he'd see but never again, not until he picked up his pen to write love letters from him to her, muse contact while dressed in fur.
And lilies on her grave he'd leave, along with letters to show he'd thieved.
Her heart from the world, he had wanted this; all it took was a single kiss. Then she was his, and once they'd danced, never looked back, not even glanced at the place she'd left.

He laid her down, his heart bereft, her hollow empty shell he left. For she was free and happy and warm, she had drifted away from all the storms.

And in the silver gossamer blessing of moonlight, they'd loved and lived and left. She had ascended - was now a star. He was the one who'd reached so far.

Dark Lullaby for a Sweet Baby

Dark Lullaby for a Sweet Baby -
The shadows are her light.
Babe that falls with no arms to catch,
Stolen wild into the night.

Whirlpool eyes, torrent of lies,
Believing in a fake;
Kiss goodnight, a poison bite,
No mother but a snake.

Is there Death after Life?
Riddler plays his fife.
A song is sung -
"Tranquill Illusions,
Kind Sweet Nothings
All wrapped up in a bow.
Sweet Baby's Dark Lullaby,
Sung by the hand that sinks the boat."

Don't worry, be happy!

As the stars fall from the sky
And the trees begin to die,
Some people look up to the ceiling
And wonder,
"What happened?
The world was bright and perfect
And our hearts were pure.
But now the sky is falling -
We're doomed for sure."

As the fish are slowly drowning
And the governments are clowning,
I look up at the night sky
And quietly wonder,
"Why?
If we cannot change a sinlge thing,
And our planet is surely doomed,
We should take our materials goodies
And them ourselves cocoon."

Don't worry, be happy!
If the world is going to end;
As you keep of saying,
There's nothing we can mend.
